Arwen is perfect with Aragorn and Eowyn with Faramir.
Tolkien wrote LOTR in a most perfect way.No need to change anything.Legolas is great as he is.And I'm glad he is single.At least one of Orlando's handsome character is for fans only.

Yes,it happens sometimes that characters fall in love with wrong girls but not in Tolkien's books.He knew right who is good for who.

About elf warriors. Elven women and girls are not warriors or tomboys and they aren't send to wars although they are physically strong and they are able to defend IF necessary. You can't see any to march to Helms Deep in Two Towers movie...etc.
The whole Arwen scene holding sword and saying "If you want him come and claim him" was made up by Peter Jackson. It never happened in the book.

As all guys with common sense elven guys want their women to be safe and protected. The same would be true for Legolas. See how angsty and sad he was when his friends were in danger or when he thought Gandalf died. IF he had some girl he would want her to be safe and not fight side by side with him and risk her life.

Whole misconception about elven warrior chicks came probably from computer games(and Mary Sue fanfictions-tenth walker stories..etc) . But those "elves" don't have anything in common with Middle Earth elves except the pointed ears. Also outfits are totally different. Elves from Middle Earth wear modest outfits. Elven women are noble, moral, strong, gentle and modest.

All the fun? Do you think the war and fighting is fun??? It isn't and especially not for the women.
Look at Legolas he was in angst when his friends were in danger and some of them were powerful warriors(Aragorn...etc.). Do you think the quest fellowship went on was just a vacation and they weren't full of sadness and stress because of everything they and their friends had to go through? Can you imagine how Legolas would feel to see his love(if he had some-I'm glad he doesn't have any) in the bloody battle risking her life? Everyone can be killed no matter how good warrior he/she is. He would wanted her to be as safe as possible and as far from the danger as possible.

Again all those Xenas, Caras, Kahlans...etc. have nothing in common with Tolkien's concept of Middle Earth women or elven women.
Yes, Eowyn was a fighter but what happened when she fell in love with Faramir? Tolkien wrote very interesting essay "Laws and Customs Among the Eldar" which appears in "Morgoth's Ring" and there are informations about elven customs, family life, marriage, psychology...etc. Good to read it to know elves and Legolas.

Of course he isn't because he told you he isn't and he is into dark brown eyes long wavy hair learning worrior skills. You write about it in your story so it must be true. I understand you have your taste and concept but other people have their too.
Tolkien experts usually consider Legolas being asexual. If you like to imagine him as straight okay. I like to imagine him as gay(gay isn't anything offensive. I love gays)and I like slash.

I mentioned Elladan and Elrohir(the sons of Elrond) because Legolas says in ROTK they are beautiful and he is amazed by their looks and I like those pairings.

Honestly I would be able to tolerate if Legolas had a guy but I would HATE if he had a woman. I avoid all kinds of Legomances. I hate them to death.
He always spoke about forests and stuff like that or he did I would call it some sort of elvish meditation, or sang. He never showed even slight interest in women.
There had to be some reason Tolkien wrote him this way. My friend says he believe Tolkien meant him to be a warrior monk.
As LOTRgirl said Tolkien experts consider Legolas to be asexual. I read about it too in some very good essays written by Tolkien scholars.
How it comes Legolas is so handsome and strong and never realized it? Elves aren't artificial like many guys of our world. They pay attention to more important things. Legolas wasn't metrosexual or narcicist. And he was modest.
Read the books. Portrayal of Legolas in the movie isn't sufficient enough to understand his character.

It's true. We DON'T know if Legolas is gay. There are some very good essays out there on the pro and the con side. Of course, this is up for debate. I am debater and I know the only way to get people to listen to your argument is throughout evidence. If you have evidence from the book pointing either way, then we can work with that. However saying "Because I said so" or "Just because" isn't a legitimate argument. If you have evidence saying he's *not* gay, then we can work with that. However, there is no *specific* piece of evidence that points either way. Therefore, it is safe to assume either side. I've read the books a few times and I cannot remember any specific quote or passage that weighs in favor of the other side. If there is, please tell me. I would like to know.
