Is he using me even just as a friend?

I'm known to give my vrienden gifts around the holidays no matter what holiday. I gave my friend/crush a cute beer for valentines day. He knew I was going to get him something but he didn't know what. Before I gave it to him he zei "is it candy I hope it's candy" and then when I gave him the beer and a lollipop he tried to give the beer away to his vrienden right in front of me but he popped the lollipop right in his mouth. My vrienden say he was being a jerk and that he's using me. I know that he was a jerk but I still really like him and I don't know why. Do u people thinks he's using me and should I confront him about trying to give it away?
