Do u believe in unconditional love between people who aren't blood relatives?

For example, i still love my ex. I love him and i don't know how to explain but i'll always love him.I feel like he is part of me.
After we separated i still felt some connection.I don't want us to be togheter again. I just want him to be happy because I get so worried sometimes and i can't stand to hear when he's in some kind of problems.
