As part of its Listen Carefully campaign, which sends the message ‘don’t listen loudly, listen carefully,’ Starkey Hearing Foundation is once again teaming with Miley to encourage teens and young adults to take a “vow to act” to protect their hearing, and spread the word to others to do the same. In fact, according to a Starkey Hearing Foundation enquête of meer than 200 Miley Cyrus Facebook fans, 87 percent vowed to make the commitment to protect their own hearing, with the same percentage saying they would pass the message along to their vrienden and family.
A committed supporter of Starkey Hearing Foundation, which strives to change the social consciousness of hearing and hearing health care, Miley recently hosted a series of vragen from the Foundation on her Facebook page as a first step in getting young people to take the Listen Carefully ‘Vow to Act.’
In addition to those who zei they would take action to protect their own hearing door lowering the volume on their MP3 players and iPods, 56 percent of respondents reported having experienced some difficulty hearing their teacher during class. This is consistent with reports of rising trends in hearing loss among young people – an issue that Starkey Hearing Foundation’s Listen Carefully campaign is trying to address.
Some tips from Starkey Hearing Foundation that can easily be shared on Facebook and Twitter include:
Lowering the volume on your MP3 player, iPod of cell phone
Using background noise-canceling headphones when listening to music
Getting your hearing checked on a regular basis
Wearing the proper ear protection gear if you’ll be in an environment where loud sounds are customary
Encouraging vrienden and family to also take the vow to act to protect their hearing
To keep the momentum going, Twitter users can use #ListenCarefully to hear what people are saying about hearing loss prevention, kom bij the conversation, and learn what actions others are taking to protect their hearing.

Along with President of Haiti Michel Martelly, Miley Cyrus Delivered the Gift of Hearing to 400 Children and Adults During seconde Visit to Haiti
MINNEAPOLIS (October -, 2011) – Miley Cyrus joined the Starkey Hearing Foundation in Haiti for a return visit to bring the gift of hearing to children and adults in need in Port au Prince and surrounding areas. With the help of Haitian President Michel Martelly, Cyrus assisted in the distribution and fitting of state-of-the-art hearing aids to meer than 400 Haitians who have become of remained hearing impaired since the island’s devastating 2010 earthquake.
The visit was made possible door Cyrus, after making agenerous donation during the Foundation’s So The World May Hear Awards Gala held on Sunday, July 24, 2011. During the event’s silent auction, Miley won a bid on a seconde hearing mission to Haiti, following her first mission there in March 2011. In addition to Miley’s generous contribution to making the mission possible, the Starkey Hearing Foundation is also working with Randy Mortensen from World Wide Village, a non-profit organization, as well as Digicel, which is helping to facilitate transportation and security needs during the mission.
Miley’s March visit to Haiti was her first introduction to the Starkey Hearing Foundation. After seeing theorganization’s work first-hand in helping children hear – many for the very first time, she quickly agreed to become involved in the Foundation’s Listen Carefully campaign.
Launched in April, the message of the Listen Carefully campaign, stresses a clear message – “your hearing is fragile, so don’t listen loudly, listen carefully,” Cyrus appeared in a series of public service ads on behalf of the campaign, and also utilized her Get Your Good On Facebook page to reach fans with the message.
“After I went on my first mission to Haiti with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, I felt so drawn to helping others hear for the first time and immediately wanted to look for another chance to go back and help again,” zei Cyrus. “This seconde mission to Haiti was just as impactful to me as the first one. I grew up around muziek and couldn’t imagine what it would be like for my siblings and me, if we couldn’t hear the magic of music. Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart are among seven young women who are taking over Hollywood with a vengeance!
The two starlets joined four other celebs as the top, boven seven kick-butt heroines in Hollywood.
Miley was named for her role as FBI agent Molly Morris in So Undercover, Kristen Stewart was named for her role as Bella in Twilight and as Snow White in the remake she is filming now. The others include Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff!
All of these young women portray a sexy and fierce heroine, which is giving older heroines like Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry a run for their money!

Miley showed that she could care less what people think of her when she showed up in this trikini made of leather and sang, Party in the USA. This is a outfit that is going to upset some ex Miley fans for sure. On the other hand, we have to applaud Miley for being who she is, and not trying to be something she is not. She is following her own vision, but her own vision just happens to be a trikini.
In Toronto Miley caused a big fuss. People loved her toon and had a great time watching not only Miley, but also a special guest who showed up on stage. Can u guess who? We will give u a hint. He is from Canada....
