Erik: Why?

Erik: Then he'd be up a creek without a paddle.
Thomas: Yeah. The championship is in two days. Thanks for inviting me to your home, but I must go.

Two days later at the start of the Equestrian volleybal League.

News pony 4: The camera crews are ready.
