Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with all the various news concerning One Direction, and something that can be easy to miss is what all the other celebrities/bands/singers are saying about their career.
Obviously, something that a lot of people have been commenting on recently is the extended hiatus the boys\' will be embarking on next year, so we\'ve collected the responses from a bunch of celebs about this stage in One Direction\'s journey.
Chezza had her say in The Daily Star, sharing her thoughts that it\'s absolutely crucial the boys\' take a break for their own sanity: "They were young boys when we found them, they are young men now and need to find their own way. It\'s crucial for them to do that now, or you can go mad.
"I completely understand, coming from a girl group. It was seven years before we took a break. We weren\'t working as intensely or as hard as 1D but it is essential for your sanity."
Si told Capital FM that an extended a break has always been in the pipeline and that he\'s 100% behind the boys\' choice, sharing: "This has been going on for quite a long time actually, they always said 2016 they wanted to take some time off and I said 100% do it,"
He continued: "This is 5 years, literally non stop I\'m amazed they\'ve done it for so long."
Jules spilled his opinion to Billboard, confirming Simon\'s statement that a break has always been in the plan and that the boys\' have had a whale of a time working on their new album: "There was a lot of them not knowing if they were going to take a break or not, because that wasn\'t decided just yesterday. There was definitely some of that going on, [but] it wasn\'t like every day was depressing in the studio.
"We were having so much fun when we were making this record — going out, having parties, really enjoying ourselves and not taking any day for granted that we got to spend with each other.
The GS crew also had their say; Gaz, who \'knows they\'ll come back together\' is feeling pretty optimistic about the whole thing, and Charlotte is just eagerly awaiting the moment one of the boys\' knocks on her door and takes her on a date. THERE\'S A LINE, CHAR. Some appreciated words of wisdom from Gaz: "They haven\'t broke up forever so don\'t be that devastated, they will be back together."
Obviously has some experience of being in a world-famous boyband and reckons the boys might have run into some opposition from their management about wanting some time off (which doesn\'t really fit in with what Si said, but there you go): "It was five years of just non stop. They want you in every county all over the world.I can definitely relate to them needing a break"
"The powers that be, don\'t want you to take a break, they probably don\'t care what anyone thinks and don\'t care if you need a break."
On the other hand, Ringo told ITV News that he doesn\'t understand why One Direction might want to take a break seeing as his band, The Beatles, never did: "We didn\'t understand taking a hiatus or a holiday, we just kept going because we loved it. And we were there because we loved it! We loved to play and we loved to play live and then we went into the recording studio and we got a bit crazy playing live. We did what we loved to do."
But Bri, who left Westlife before their split, agreed that a break is a good idea for the boys, revealing that if he\'d been given the chance to have some time off he might not have left Westlife so prematurely: "I think One Direction\'s hiatus is brilliant - go explore things on their own, enjoy the solo life, then get back together," he said.
"Maybe if Westlife had done that, I would have stayed in the band a bit longer. I think it\'s a really good idea, they\'re gonna realise how amazing it\'s been for them.
He continued: "It didn\'t work out like that for us but I think it\'ll make the band last a lot longer than if they just carried on and on and they probably will get back together. It\'ll be much easier because they haven\'t broken up."
