and Zayn Malik having just done his first interview properly talking about why he quit the band and all, the lads were inevitably going to be hit with a few questions about it.

Ellen DeGeneres was the first to tackle this one head on and when the 1D boys dropped by for a chat and to play a rather wonderful game of Never Have I Ever this week, she got straight in there with the tricky questions.

They were more than happy to answer them, with Louis revealing "I guess we kinda knew" Zayn was thinking about going and Liam saying "I\'ve spoken to him a couple of times. He\'s good," this didn\'t stop things being a little awkward and it was up to Harry to make the point that it\'s kind of awkward for them to be asked about what happened.

Totally cracking up and smoothly changing the subject, he said: "You could cut the tension in here with a knife. Let\'s make some jokes!"
