Erin couldn't sleep. She knew that Fritz was all right, but his brush with death made her realize that he isn't immortal. What would she and her mates do if they did lose Fritz? New Religion without Fritz would be like Texas A&M without Reveille of the universiteit of Georgia without Uga. Of course, there are big differences. There have been several Reveilles and several Ugas. As far as Erin and her mates are concerned, there is only ONE Fritz, and that's how it will always be. Finally tired of tossing and turning, Erin got out of bed. She needed to get these feelings off her chest. She went to Paul's bedroom to talk with him. She gently tapped him on the shoulder and calmly asked, "Paul, are u awake?" He let out a muffled groan. "I am now." he murmured faintly. "What are u doing up?" She said, "I can't sleep, Paul." He asked, "Why? What's wrong, Erin?" She said, "I was just thinking about Fritz and what we would do if we did lose him." Paul said, "Erin, Dr. Wright zei that Fritz is going to be fine. On top, boven of that, he's not going to die anytime soon. He's only five years old. Chinooks can live up to fifteen years." Erin said, "But Paul, death is not a respecter of age. u know what happened to our childhood best friends." He said, "Yeah." She then said, "When Fritz is well enough, we need to bring in a new dog. I know u talked about getting another dog after Nunavut passed in March." Paul said, "Yeah, but where are we going to find another Chinook? It's not that populair of a breed." Erin remarked, "Who zei we had to get another Chinook?" He said, "We'll discuss this later. Try to get some sleep, all right?" She said, "All right." She went back to bed. The volgende morning, the members of New Religion were awake, waiting for the call that Fritz could come home. They received the call, and Fritz was able to come home. The veterinary technician zei that he had eaten and was feeling much better. When Erin, Paul, Carl, and Lola arrived at the veterinary clinic, Fritz was pulling on his leash. His leg was still a bit swollen, and he still wasn't putting weight on it, but his strength was back and he looked much better. On the way back home, Fritz periodically licked Erin's and Paul's faces. He then moved to the front to lick Lola's hand. After they arrived home, Carl got down on his knees, and Fritz licked Carl's face. The foursome relaxed on the couch, and Fritz proceeded to lie down at their feet and sleep.
The volgende day, Leila and Greeley took Paul for a walk on the strand while Leila's aunt and uncle relaxed on the beach. Greeley said, "I can't believe today is our last dag here." Leila said, "I know. Vacations always go door so quickly." He said, "Let's make the most of the time we have." She said, "Yes." That evening, they had a seafood meal. They then began packing for their things so that they would be ready for their trip back home. Greeley zei to Leila, "Thank u for inviting me to go on vacation with you, Leila." She said, "You're welcome, Greeley." He said, "We'll have to do some meer fun things this summer." She said, "Yeah. That would be great." They settled into their beds to rest for the trip the volgende morning.
The volgende day, Greeley accompanied Leila and her aunt and uncle on a ride to the nearest beach. Leila's uncle drove. Leila's dog, Paul, enjoyed looking out the window at the sights. When they stopped for lunch, Leila took Paul out on a leash to "do his business". A few people stopped Leila and asked her, "What kind of dog is that?" Most people didn't believe her when she told them that Paul is a purebred German Shepherd Dog. Leila didn't mind, though. She was aware that most people don't know that Shepherds can be blue, especially solid blue like Paul. Around 6:00 that evening, Leila, Greeley, Leila's aunt and uncle, and Paul arrived at the property. It was a nice strand house, and it was very pet friendly. They were all tired from their trip. After unpacking, they got avondeten, diner and relaxed for the rest of the evening. A few hours later, they called it a night.
Leila and Greeley had just finished their first jaar of college. They were looking vooruit, voorwaarts to the summer. Greeley asked, "What are u going to do this summer, Leila?" She said, "I'm mostly going to relax and take it easy. What are u going to do?" He said, "I think I'll do the same, but we should do some fun things this summer. After all, summer doesn't last forever." She said, "You're right. We should do some fun things together." He said, "I'd like that." Later, Leila texted Greeley and said, "My aunt and uncle and I are going to the strand this weekend. They zei that I can bring one friend with me. I first asked Rita, but she can't come, because she's taking summer classes as well as taking on a summer job. Would u like to come with us, Greeley?" He said, "I'd love to, Leila." She said, "Great!" He asked, "Is your dog, Paul, going too?" She said, "Of course he is." The two vrienden were looking vooruit, voorwaarts to their weekend getaway.
