This might come as a surprise, but Aidan Turner sometimes gets his top off when he plays Captain Ross Poldark. Who knew, huh?

Well, despite the widespread – and often hysterical – media attention that Aidan\'s torso gets, one

star doesn\'t think it\'s all that important.

Dismissing some people\'s cries of double standards, Gabriella Wilde told

that the attention Aidan gets from fans is "different" entirely to the attention women get.

Gabriella, who plays Caroline Penvenen in the windswept drama, disagreed that Aidan is \'objectified\' by fans, saying that the attention he gets is \'more lighthearted\' in nature.

"Women have been forced into thinking it\'s a currency they have to use to get ahead, or to get the job," she explained.

"For women it is so deeply ingrained and infects so many aspects of your life."

star Eleanor Tomlinson doesn\'t understand the fuss either, with the actress recently admitting that she finds the whole thing "daft".

Aidan\'s on-screen wife said: "It seems a shame it keeps coming back to that. I\'ve not spoken to him about it, but I\'m sure he\'s taking it in his stride like the gentleman he is."

Fortunately for those thirsty fans, Aidan will be showing off the results of his scything skills when

finally returns for a fourth series tonight (June 10).
