I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Pretty Little Liars postmortem: Marlene King talks season 6B finale | EW.com
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
'Pretty Little Liars' finale recap: 'Hush, Hush, Sweet Liars'
WARNING: This post contains spoilers from “Hush, Hush, Sweet Liars,” the season 6B finale of
has finally revealed its twin: Mary Drake, the twin sister of Ali’s dead mother, Jessica DiLaurentis. And not only is Mary Drake back, but she’s working with Elliot Rollins, Ali’s husband, to take over the Carisimmi Group (a.k.a. the place where Charlotte stored her money).
Not only did the finale tell us all of that, but it also provided fans with a number of memorable shipper moments. With that in mind, we spoke with
showrunner Marlene King to break down the finale and what comes next.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: The first thing I have to ask even though I’m probably the only person who cares: Was Huw [Collins] wearing a Bryce Johnson mask?
MARLENE KING: He was wearing part of a Bryce Johnson facial mask, yes. [
] And contact lenses! They do not have the same color eyes.
Obviously the twin theory has been a long time coming. It was in the books, and you all have played with it on the show. But in terms of the Mary Drake twist, how long has that been in the works?
I don’t remember exactly when we came up with it but it was definitely tied into the mythology of Charlotte and when we were getting serious about Charlotte being Big “A,” I’ll say, as opposed to Über “A,” who is now revealing a self.
So do we have our definitive answer on Über A or is that still an ongoing answer moving forward?
Well the person who signed the last text, they signed it as A.D. There’s a reason for that but A.D. is Über “A.”
I know you all have announced that Andrea Parker is going to be a regular next season, so does that mean we’re going to get some background on Mary Drake?
Yeah you’re going to get a lot of background on Mary Drake and Elliot Rollins and Mary’s relationship with her sister, Mrs. D. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
] I know, I love it; I’m a sucker for a Brit as everybody knows on this show.
Okay, that makes sense. What can you say about the relationship between those sisters?
Well. we’re going to find out. We know that Mary Drake, like Charlotte, was in and out of Radley and so there’s definitely a rich history of emotions and ups and downs between the two sisters, and we’re going to explore that in season 7. It’s really fun and juicy and delicious.
We also have to touch on all of the amazing shipper moments from last night. I’m such an Ezria shipper, so I’m on cloud nine, but one of my big questions surrounding them — and Ezra in general — is: Is there more to the Nicole mystery of it all? Is that still going to play into things?
It’s possible. I can’t say yes or no. But I do think what we can say for sure is that Ezra really did say goodbye to Nicole [in the finale]. He wasn’t able to do that until he wrote this book with Aria, so there was closure for them which enabled both of those characters to throw caution to the wind and do what they’ve probably been wanting to do for a long time.
I’m so happy with how long that scene was.
Is Hanna’s kidnapping going to potentially drive a wedge between Caleb and Spencer?
I think we learned [in the episode] that there isn’t closure between Hanna and Caleb, and there’s still some raw emotion there, but there’s real emotion between Spencer and Caleb as well. So we have a legitimate love triangle on
There’s always hope for Spoby. I am the original Spoby shipper; I wrote the first episode where they got together, so there is always hope for Spoby.
I know you’ve mentioned that Jason will be back.
Jason has really been running the Carissimi Group for Charlotte. That’s the fund where Charlotte had all her money, where she funded her A-ness — I’ll say it — and he’s off doing Carissimi Group charity work so we realized in last night’s episode that Mary Drake and Elliot intend to steal back that company, so that’s what’s going to bring Jason back into our story.
We will find out that in season 7. We will find out who killed Charlotte and who killed Mrs. D in season 7 and I think those are the last of our “who killed” questions. We’re coming to the end of the show as we know it which allows us to really sort of speed up time. Time will move at a much more rapid pace.
