I suppose you're right. It's not only 13 jaar olds, though. Though, I do believe that children of that age tend to be meer backhand worthy.
I think it's becasue they're getting into pop culture and the media. They see people on televisie being dramatic and reacting in a way which would never happen in reality, thus appearing immature. They see it on televion, so they think it's cool. (think about all the middle school drama people go through. It's all Gossip Girl and One boom heuvel stuff)
They eventually grow wiser and realize televisie is just that. Television.
And door the way (just an opinion of mine) I think shouting "HEY, I'M MATURE!!!" actually releavl the exact oposite.

I didn't. Well.....I had an obsession with Chucky the killer doll at thirteen years old (Don't ask) but other than that, I was pretty mature at thirteen.
