Marriage? :/ Opinions please.

Yes. Walking door a loved one's side, forever, is the best thing in existence.

I am starting to lose faith in marriages.

From what I have seen, this is what happens:

1. Divorce

2. Constant fighting, just staying together for the sake of the child.

3. Cheating.

I agree with Rob Zombie (excuse the language) but marriage is just LEGALIZED FUCKING!
It makes no difference! All it is is an expensive, unnecessary way of tonen affection. u don't need to throw money away on a ring, dress, and over-exaggerated ceremony to prove that u love someone.

50% of marriages nowadays end in divorce, which is just another reason why u shouldn't get married.

Why?
When u get married, that someone is yours forever. Your bound together in love. u have a special connection with that person, and a responsibility to take care of each other. It sounds wonderful to me. Sure, you're going to have problems. But you'll face them with your spouse, and I think it will be a lot easier to face life with him/her at your side.

if u really love someone, then go for it. but not becus ur 16 and pregers. like on the show, almost all the chicks are plannin on getin married, thats just.. not the right time. ur damn near 17 and ur planin on to take a HUGE step towards love, but if ur kinda older than that and u really really love him/her then yea

Lately, I think marriage is overrated.

Marriage is supposed to be a beautiful, powerful, invincible bond between two loved ones who know that life will not be life if they don't have each other with them forever.

Marriage was seen as a treasure, exceedingly significant, as something that actually had some value within it.

But lately, marriage these days has become a big joke! :(

We have teenage love birds as young as fifteen thinking they're actually in love with one another and that they can't live without each other, so they go get a secret marriage, a private wedding with vrienden if not just among themselves and a "pastor", and run away together. Of course, these are the type of relationships that can easily end up on Maury.

Then we have the marriages that exist just for convenience. Man and woman have one night stand, woman's knocked up, man feels that its his responsibility to stay with woman (or is pressured door his strictly religious parents), and rashly marries the woman. These are the type of divorces that involve screaming, shouting, judging, manipulating, messages in front yards made out of fire, crashed car windows, cars with "Cheating Bastard" scratched into them, mistresses and boyfriends (of course), and emotionally and psychologically damaged children who grow up being complete sociopaths.

We have marriages that last for about a few months until one of the 'soul mates' is finished with their lust stage in the relationship.

Or, we have this one particular situation that happened in my family; My cousin, Don gets married to a woman named Kit he only knew for a few months. He has two daughters. Kit was abusive to both children, and Don ingored it for the sake of Kit until my family becomes hysterical and Children In Youth gets involved.

Lastly, we have gay marriage, and I'm pretty sure we all know the controversy over that.
Marriage is about love, people, not gender.

Yet, lately, it doesn't seem to be about love at all.
Lately, marriage is just the third most perfect recipe for everlasting drama, fighting, scarring, and well evident stupidity.

Marriage is currently in complete turmoil if not a big joke, pretty much. :/

A waste of money. If the one u love really loves u then won't need a damn ring to make him of her believe they're really with you. They'll stay with u through everything.

Unless u plan to have kids and don't want last name confusion, then that's the only reason to get married in my opinion.

I am definitely getting married :) Well, not anytime soon, but one day. I spend a lot of time thinking about marriage, I love love <3

No, I don't believe in marriage. First, there are the statistics. Then, there's when u get to witness the fighting and the bawling and the yelling and the blaming all firsthand. No thank you. I especially hate the part where the parents think they need to stay together "for the kids". I'm sure the kids will be mentally and emotionally better off if they didn't have to go through the constant motions of a failing marriage. At least I would, anyway.

I'm really sorry about what you're having to go through.
