Romeo's Blue Skies (ロミオの青い空 Romio no aoi sora?, "Romeo's Blue Skies") is a Japanese anime series door Nippon Animation. Although "Romeo's Blue Skies" is the literal translation of the Japanese title, the official English name gegeven door Nippon animatie is "Romeo and the Black Brothers". It is known in the Philippines as "Mga Munting Pangarap ni Romeo" (literally "Romeo's Simple Dreams").

The Characters : The Black Brothers

The Black Brothers: These are Romeo's fellow chimney sweeps in Milan, all young boys. They look out for each other as best they can in a city that takes no interest in their continued existence.

There is, perhaps, a bit of simplicity in many of its characters — those who are freakishly good, and those who are one-sidedly bad ... but there's also great depth in many others. And while I want to crack Anzelmo's head like an egg, I have to admit that he is one sharp little bastard ... and even the characters I don't particularly like are all rather interesting. (Michaelo discounted. Someone run that whiny child over with a carriage and put him out of his misery, please.)

The Characters: Alfredo

Alfredo: Romeo meets Alfredo en route to Lugnano and after an initially cordial beginning, the two become fast friends. Although Alfredo tells Romeo never to ask of his past, he later voluntarily tells Romeo of his life with his sister Bianca and how his only goal is to become and adult so he can protect her. He can read, which makes Romeo look up to him, as Romeo cannot. Alfredo is a strong and quiet individual, and is fiercely loyal to his friends. When they are sold to different men in Milan, he and Romeo swear a special oath that their friendship will outlast everything.

The Story

Story Romeo is a young boy living in the Swiss Alps in the late 1800s. He lives with his parents and two younger brothers in a small mountain village, where things haven't been going too well for them of late — a few of their crops burned, and they only have one remaining field. Things get suddenly, horribly worse, when a man referred to as the Shinigami (God of Death — who bears a striking resemblance to Jet Black of Cowboy Bebop, scarily) arrives in the village — looking for prospective children to buy, then sell into slavery. And he's got Romeo in his sights.

Romeo is a kind-hearted boy, who was raised in a loving environment. For this reason, he is excessively optimistic that no matter how bad things may be, they will inevitably work out in the end. It is this reasoning that allows him to survive the many hardships that he is forced to endure after he sells himself into what amounts to slavery.
Romeo's Family: His father taught him to be brave and strong, and do what is right. meer than once, Romeo makes difficult choices based on what he believes his father would do.
