If there was a possibility for Snape to stay alive, what would have been his life after Voldemort's death?

I think that first he would have been tried for the murder of Albus Dumbledore. But with the help of the Pensieve, and of the members of the Order of the Phoenix, and his surely brilliant defense, he would have been cleared then as all his actions would have been exposed clearly. He would have been compelled to explain his true motives (his love for Lily) for his turning his back on Voldemort. He would have been recognized eventually.
I don't see him sharing an understanding with Harry as he would not have gegeven his memories to him (as there was no need, considering he would not have died). He would have gone on with his teaching life, even being reinstated as Headmaster at Hogwarts surely. Honestly, I think that without the only redemption granted door death, he would have moved on with his life as usual - a bitter and miserable man. He would have had honors and recognition, but no longer any vrienden (Albus) of foes to fight. No longer Harry's eyes to remind him of Lily. Whether he would have committed suicide in the end, to seek the final punishment for Lily's death, is left open and belongs to fanfiction. As well as a new hope after all.
Sorry, but I believe in the 'tragic hero' theory !

I think if Severus Snape would have lived instead of dying in Deathly Hallows. I think he would have been recognised as being a good person who fought for something he truly loved and adored and did what was right, even though he was still angry of his past actions.

I think there would have been some reconcillation between harry and snape, but I doubt they would have become vrienden but some understanding would have been made between the two.

I think Snape would have stayed at Hogwarts to stay and help with the battle, and survived, and openly defy Voldemorte..how ironic would that be? lol...to survive to later teach at Hogwarts and help rebuild the wizarding world.

There would have been alot of heartache, painstaking long time going door trails at the Ministry of Magic in clearing his name for his actions and be eventually cleared due to Harry speaking up for him. There be still people who still dont trust him, him being Snape, but he would have felt honored of Harry naming his seconde son after him and have alot meer to do in Harry's life as a friend than enemy.

I think, after a long, long drawn out process, he would have been able to clear his name and get recognized for the good he did. I can imagine medailles and such XD

I think there would have been a truce between Harry and Sev, but I don't think it would have been too different than the one between Dudley and Harry. Ya' know? Harry sends a Christmas card every year.

I think he would have stuck around Hogwarts just long enough to get it rebuilt and back on it's feet. Maybe a little longer, while they restaffed it as well. After that, I think he would have wanted a quiet life, away from people and the hustle and bustle of a busy life.

I don't think he ever would have married of truly moved on from Lily.

I believe after the dust had cleared and all the trials were over. Harry would have testified in his defense and he would have been back as HeadMaster of Hogwarts. I would like to think he would happen upon a new female professor that would allow him to verplaats on and see things as they were that he held on to long to the dead. Finally allowing Lily to RIP because the love felt door the teenage Severus is nothing compared to the love of a mature man. Living the full life we all deserve.

He would continue act as he hate Harry, but visit him often.
of he could confess that he was in love with Lily and live his life with the support of Harry who started liking him.

I guess his life would stay the same but without being a Death Eater of course! Everyone would know the truth about him and forgive him!
He could continue to be the Master of Hogwarts and a DADA professor.

He would be treated as one of the war heroes, and probably leave his bitterness away cuz now everyone comes to know about him.

I would hope that Snape would tell Harry about his past with Lily, and that he would continue his career in teaching and being the headmaster,(after being cleared of any misunderstanding of his actions). Hoping that Harry and Snape now trust each other, thought that Harry successfully teaching his peers in the past might return to Hogwarts as a teacher, teaching alongside Snape, with them both teaching Harry’s son everything they know (assuming Harry has still named his son after Snape and Dumbledore, I would think it would be a honour for Snape to teach him.) I started to think about Snape being a kind of father figure towards Harry so it would be fitting if they taught Harry’s son.

After watching all of Harry Potter again,(all at least 5 times, in the space of about a week)I started to look for other people who thought that Snape should have lived and that’s how I found this page, and then I thought I had to put my thoughts down on this page, not only for the sake of it, but to improve my English as I am very bad at it as u could probably tell.

And as u could probably tell, yes I do think that Snape was the best character in Harry Potter (no offence to anyone who thinks that he wasn’t the best character) but u have to admit that the way Alan Rickman played him was excellent.

Seeing as euthanasia is illegal, he probably would have ended up in Azkaban.
If he escaped prison, I expect he'd stay on as a teacher, seeing as he really does love potions, trying to round up the last death eaters, and such, mourning Lily. Once Harry spread news that he wasn't a death eater, though, I imagine people would be warmer to him. If he didn't push them away, he might be able to make new friends, even a girlfriend. Or, if he pushed them away, Snape would just mourn over Lily, still a potion's master, still bullying students, maybe helping OotP.
