STDs In California On The Rise

While this article states that there is no single explanation for the increase, I have to believe that cuts in funding for clinics, as mentioned, is a huge factor. In the comments section that followed, a person wrote that anonymous testing is no longer available, thus losing an incentive for people to get tested.

In the 90s, when my niece was a teen, there was a magazine aimed at young women that provided frank and honest advice to them regarding safe sex. Eventually parents caught on and put pressure on the advertisers, and long story short, this magazine no longer exists. This was before the internet, but still...the idea that honest info is unacceptable. Since when is ignorance preferable?
