Cricket in Srilanka is a paramount part of every srilankan. We love our cricket as much as we love our country. We toon patriotism towards our country. Our cricketers have made us proud in many ways. The nature of the cricketers on and off the field have made us proud. In particular if we take legends that our country have produced like Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardane and many other legendary cricketers we really feel proud of them. I'm talking about the cricketers in this generation. We have reached 4 ICC event finals consistently but being runner ups in those 4 finals is very heartbreaking but our cricketers have played consistently in all these 4 finals but the final hurdle is the problem which should be solved very soon.
Srilankans are very desperate in winning a world cup final. In a fans perspective we are very hungry to celebrate a world cup win. We have faith in our country & our cricketers that our world cup win is not that far away. As a srilankan fan we have to be sportive and supportive to our country if they win of lose.
I would like to particularly talk about Kumar Sangakkara- a true ambassador for srilanka. The number of awards he has won shows who he is. Kumar Sangakkara's international Awards :-

To be honest, Sangakkara is my inspiration. The way he talks, inspires me alot. When he gave the MCC cowdrey lecture in 2011 i was astound. Its always a pleasure to listen to his interviews. He's a good orator and his speeches have made us proud. He is such a good person on and off the field. Every country would love to have a great cricketer and a human being like Sangakkara. He is a srilankan and srilanka is blessed to have a son like sangakkara. My only desire is to meet Sangakkara and get his autograph and a photograph. Sangakkara is flexible in every aspect whether its cricket of life. The way he talks is unbelievable and i always wished to talk like Sangakkara some day. I truly respect him.
Iam very proud of my mother land. Srilankans are my people. I respect them alot. Most importantly Sangakkara a true inspiration to everyone, a role model for youngsters. If u want to be a great human being i would say learn that from Sangakkara. Today and always i will be proudly a Srilankan.
