Supernatural Vraag

Hi, perhaps it's already been answered, but I was wondering why God would be "missing"? Why would an angel have to "find" Him...sounds like He abandoned everyone and it seems odd.....

Appreciate the answers! I realize the toon will take license with reality, but I guess if not all angels canspeak to God then Castiel needed to go over superiors head to get to God directly and that's why he's "looking" for God. I just had trouble with the abandonment issue and I suppose as mentioned in the example of the crucifixion, God is simply having to let things unfold without interference. I missed the free will part so I'll check it out

I agree. Every time they mention it I'm like Where would he go? I guess he's God so if anyone can go to a place where the angels can't find him it'd be him.
p.s. did anyone else hate that whole "lack of free will" speech on Thursday? As a Catholic I have to say I really don't agree. That was strange. Cool to see Michael though. (sorry to get off topic, I just thought about this)

yes it seems illogical, and it really is. But remember they are doing in best interest for the show... and it is God, if he didn't want to be found, he could easily do that.

and to shelby, i too thought it was odd that they would say that free-will is an illusion, and me 2 as a catholic, agree. but again... they just do what is in best interest for the show.

I read somewhere that God will make an appearance before the end of the season! How they will do that, I have no clue! To most of the angels it might seem that God is "missing" because if u remember last season in the episode "Heaven and Hell" Anna reveals that only 4 angels have actually seen God. The rest of the angels only go door faith that God does in fact exist! The angles take orders from their superiors not from God directly! So God most likely is not missing, the angels just don't see him! At least that's the way I see it! I hope that helps a little!

Show-wise I guess we'll find out when it gets to that point of discovering why, but leaning on biblical history as a possible answer, God's stepped away at least once because he gave us all free will and we have to make the effort and conscious decision to accept and carry through with something we're supposed to do. The at least once instance I'm refering to is the crucifixion. Remember Jesus calling out why has Thou forsaken me? God didn't forsake him, he had to wait and let things happen because Jesus had to make the conscious decision to die. After that we all see that God was there, he just had to do His part door not doing anything. Might be the same case in the toon :) There are other examples but u get the gist?

Well, I think God is doing everything in a mystery way. With that the angels and the human could always be connected. Dean is meant to fulfill what God has destined for him.
