fanfly I want to point out a few things; Sam doesn't get headaches when he doesn't use his powers- he gets them when he [i]does[/i] use them. Or at least he did until he practiced enough or drank enough demon blood to over come that. Not sure which cured the headaches. And he [i]has[/i] gone for a long time without using his powers with no negative consequences(he never used his powers once during season 3). So it isn't as though it's physically impossible for him. The only time it was, was when he was having visions and he hasn't had one in a very long time. I understand that he thinks he's doing the right thing and on the surface it seems to be the right thing; killing demons. However, I can't shake the feeling that something bad will come of it. For one thing, Ruby is the one encouraging him to use his powers and has been all along. It's already been established that she's manipulative and I still don't think her motives have been adequately explained. She remembers being human? Wants Lilith dead? --Why is she different from all other demons? What does she have to gain from Lilith's death? The other thing is that Azazel is the one who gave Sam this "gift". He did it for his own purposes and just because he's dead doesn't mean that no one else is carrying out his plan. For all Sam knows, [i]he's[/i] carrying out Azazel's plan by strengthening his powers and drinking more demon blood. Even the angels don't know what Azazel had in mind when he created Sam. All I'm saying is that I still have grave doubts about the benefits of Sam using his powers as opposed to the potential cons. There's too much we don't know about them and the fact that they are rooted in demon blood just makes me think that they can't be good in the long run. Also, most of the psychic kids that opened themselves up to their powers turned into murderers. I think the only exception was Andy. And he only experimented with mind control. I don't think he ever tried anything else.

And I think that when Sam uses his powers he gets the headaches when he's stopped; it's like withdrawal. That's why he didn't have the headaches during season 3. You can't get withdrawal when you don't use the drug. And I totally agree with you on the Ruby front: she can NOT be trusted. The only reason I'm defending Sam is because I'm completely in love with him (hence my name). But thanks so much for taking the time to read this!
