I feel like Dean is the most complex. He has such layers.

Although Sam is a super close second, obviously.

But Sam is such a close second! I just feel like Dean has more to him then Sam. Even though Sam has most the problems, Dean has more personality.

I really like the Castiel character, but Dean's feelings are so complex and the character is very developed. I know than the show is on the two brothers, but to me, Dean seems like the real principal character. Things happen to Sam, but the show is on Dean's reactions too.
And Jensen Ackles is such a great actor! He made it so natural! Sometimes I wonder if he is really like that in real life! ;P

They are both great roles but I think with Sam, Jared has been able to play so many different sides to Sam. Just like with the past season and the whole soulless thing and with Season 5 and Lucifer, I think he has really been able to stretch his acting chops. Like I said, they are both great roles portrayed by 2 great actors!!

for me he is the one who had the most complex character with jared...in 3 seasons he played soldier angel, rebel angel, human being, powerless angel and finally some kind of dark angel...evolued each time...the angel of the 4th season is so different of the angel that we have now...
sam also had a multiple faces but still the same like dean
i love dean, he's my favorite brothers but he's the most equal to himself since the beginning and in spite of in hell journey...just this season but he was so unpleasant that i prefer forget what i saw...

Jared ahs had some seriously meaty stuff in the role of Sam over the past few years. How many actors get to play Lucifer? Research and portray addiction? Practice latin? The character of Sam has a lot of depth and various views along with it, and in my opinion more than the other 3.

Sweet naive sam, denial sam, addict sam, withdrawl sam, powerful sam, angry sam, rejected sam, rebellious sam, drunk sam, heartbroken sam, dying sam, souless sam, regretful sam, lucifer sam, possessed sam, etc etc.

The Sam character has had so much depth and range in terms of storylines. Such a good role.

Dean would be up there too
