is coming back this weekend. You may have noticed a few stories about it on Digital Spy. What better way to milk the biggest TV event of the year so far by shoehorning it into an episode of
element didn\'t take over too much. That being said, the few
gags were the highlight of the episode, as it was yet another almost-but-not-quite affair. Interesting themes were set up, but there was almost zero payoff.
\'The Viewing Party Combustion\' ended up being an excuse to create implausible conflict between all the characters. Leonard got annoyed with Sheldon over the latest roommate agreement, yet again. It just seemed really silly for Leonard to suddenly be angry at this when he knows this is the routine and there wasn\'t any particular reason for him to kick off.
Supergirl finale review: Cheesy, corny and irresistible
You know you\'re going to make up with him, can we just skip to that part?" Even the writers know it!
Amy then sided with Leonard, later revealing that it was because Penny always sticks up for Sheldon. This could have been a great opportunity for character development. Could Amy have been feeling these emotions for ages? But nope, by the end of the episode it was just abandoned.
Meanwhile, Raj is being an utter knob yet again. This season in particular, he is just being shown as an unlikeable creep who has somehow managed to snag two beautiful and strong women (how?). This week, he\'s constantly bragging to Howard about dating them both at the same time.
Again, this would be a great time to explore just why Raj is acting like this. Is it because he went so long without even being able to talk to women and he doesn\'t know how to deal with his sudden success with the ladies? Does he just want to show off for the first time? Does he want one up on Howard? Is he just a dick?
But again, these questions aren\'t answered and the episode ends without any resolution. Howard\'s allergic reaction to peanuts is the
to get everyone to stop bickering and conclude the episode. You know that these issues will be explored eventually in the series, but as a structure of a single episode it just feels weird to set things up and then not come back to them. This isn\'t
right now, is that this was almost a really great episode. The setting was good, the setup was interesting, there were plenty of funny throwaway gags, the cast were performing well. But by the end of the episode it just felt forced and rushed. You never felt like that watching an episode of
knew how to leave you feeling content (most of the time).
The final scene summed it all up. Stuart - finally getting some screen time, albeit in a Jon Snow outfit - gets unfairly teased by the three boys for no reason, and then he crashes his bike after getting his cloak caught. Howls of canned laughter. It just felt sad.
One thing we took from this episode? We\'re now craving a party sub.
This is what a generation raised by Bart Simpson looks like."
