The Heroes of Olympus Article: The Wrong Seventh

I just want to write this artikel so I can spread this message, 'kay?

Percy is NOT one of the seven of the prophecy.

There. I zei it. For the quadrillionth time.

It's not that I don't want him to be one of them (in fact, I DO want him to be one of the seven), but RR zei that Percy will play a major role in the series, but he won't be a central character. He also won't be one of the seven. I believe this. Percy has already fulfilled his prophecy in the vorige series, so it would be kind of repetitive of RR to make Percy as a child of the prophecy. Again. I read an artikel that the seven can be demigods that have unique/rare powers of position.

For example:
Leo- brand user
Piper- Charm speaker (Yeah, Drew`s a charm speaker too, but maybe Piper`s just meer powerful)

Controlling water is a common power for children of Poseidon. Percy`s just powerful because he`s the only existing son of the sea god that we know of. Ok, I know Jason`s powers are probably common among children of Jupiter/Zeus, but maybe what makes him unique is that he`s the leader of the Roman Camp (CSS). Yes, Percy is a leader of Camp Half-Blood too, but, as I said, he`d already done his part in the first Great Prophecy.

The Son of Neptune`. Alot of people assumes that meant Percy, but what is there`s really a real son of Neptune? Not just any son of Neptune, but one that has unique powers. That could mean he/she would be one of the seven.

So yeah, I don`t think Percy`s one of the seven. I can`t prove this. I forgot which site I got it from, but I can guarantee u it`s reliable. And if Percy is one of the seven, well... I stand corrected. But I doubt it.

Calypso_ I REALLY REALLY hope your wrong, no offense, but I adore Percy and if he isn't part of the prophecy I will be very mad/disappointed.

Riptide While I also thought Percy wasn't going to be one of the seven at first once I re-read the book again I started catching things I didn't before when I read it first time around. First off the requirement to be one of the seven is that you have to be powerful, not unique just powerful as Hera said that she wanted to gather the most powerful half-bloods of the current times, how can you NOT say that Percy isn't one? mark of Achilles plus he is the favorite son of Poseidon one of the big three? yea not powerful at all... oh wait. Also Rick said that he wanted to help bring most of the original characters stories to a close but many will still be playing a very important role in the series. Rick has NOT said that Percy wont be one of the seven he has stated he will play an important role and hasn't given us any specifics. It is likely Percy will be one of the seven honestly because he is Percy, he is the camp half blood lead Demi-god Jason's counter part and as such he will be one of them. WE JUST HAVEN'T SEEN HIM YET. Don't make assumptions just yet, I haven't completely said in any of this that he will be just that he will likely be one of the seven. You never know, maybe Percy wont be one of the seven but personally I would like him to be. and if you do find that place where you got this info please tell us, I would like to know myself.

partypony K, i dont know where i got it from, since the website just sort of disappeared off the face of the earth, but I can guarantee he isn't one of the seven. yeah, i know its sad, and i couldnt believe it at first, but i made my peace now. i accpet it. and yes, hera said the most powerful, blah blah blah, but i still think its not him. maybe you people dont wanna let him go (no offence). i understand. if i have to, i'll bet a million $ for my opinion. not tht i have a million dollars of course.

kidofhades97 Does anybody remember how in the end of The Last Olympian, Poseidon says, "Now I can claim all your other brothers and sisters", (or something along those lines) and Percy didn't know whether or not Poseidon was joking or what? I believe there is an actual son of NEPTUNE... though, this is just my opinion.

kokishka No offense to all those Percy-lovers(not that thats a [i]bad[/i] thing, 'cause I love him too) but I agree with partypony. Percy's played too big a role to be involved in another Great Prophecy. But it would still be awesome if he was in another prophecy, but that actually might suck for him.

partypony yeah, he just wants a semi-normal demigod life. without being the subject of a terrible prophecy that involves suffering, pain, and the end of the world.

halfblood963 yeah thats true but what unigue powers could a child of poseidon. maybe they could control the earth better than percy because he doesnt show he can make earthquakes. or they can use water from with in to help them travel like a hurrican and fly like guiding the water and jet power your self up i guess.

For several reasons, 1, he's got the Achilles stuff,2,Annabeth said she would go with Jason, Leo and Piper on the Argo II, you can't have Annabeth without Percy, it's one of the main rules of the universe, 3, people would hate it if RR didn't have Percy in it, if RR wants more readers, he probably would put Percy in

Yes it is! It doesn't only kill kiddies at school, it is messing with The Lost Hero, the book we are all dying to have. Obviously Kleo, the Muse of History, is planning something, because the history is obviously repeating itself!

(Random fact: Kleo is one of 9 daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, goddess of memory and time and inventress of languages and words. Yeah, I can see the connection. Can you?)

OK, I've read them, and I think they are 47 PAGES OF AWESOMENESS!!!!!! We have three new demigods: Leo(who seems to be a child of Hephaestus), Piper (I'm pretty sure she's Athenian) and Jason, the main character. I'm not very sure about Jason's immortal parent, but it might be either Aeolus (the wind god, booklover27's dad) of Zeus. u know, in the past few months I've heard so many people say that Jason has to be a child of one of the Big Three because he's important. Why in Hades would someone think that? Honestly, all of the gods are equally important, both in myth and in the world of Camp Half-Blood! So, I'm here to give u the 411 on why this theory (Jason has to be a big three demi) is completely bogus, becaue I'm seriously tired of repeating myself.

Before I start, I want to thank everyone who has read this. Especially redhawks for giving me my first prop!
I promise u guys it's not over yet. I have a few meer chapters to get through. After that, I have another project I'm working on, which u will be able to find on www.fanfiction.net.

Jason - Obviously our new hero. Seems to be suffering from memory loss. After a bit of research, I decided that this could be caused door Mnemosyne. Zeus and her slept together to create the Nine Muses. However, she also "presides over a pool" in the underworld, which is like the River Lethe. The interesting bit? Normally when u get eletrocuted, it hurts. But Jason keeps on fighting the anemoi thuellai. What the Hades? Why? (forgive me if my theories are crazy)

1. Jason is Zeus' child. There is a whole lot of arguments for why Jason is not Zeus' child but Boreus' of whoever. Another argument I heard for why this does not mean anything, is that in Titan's curse, when Thalia nearly gets hit door lightning, she's scared of it, so probably not lightning-resistant. But that's because Thalia knows how powerful a bolt is, so she might've realised that it was too much for her to stand in that particular moment....

What a week!!! We've seen the new cover and we've gotten not one, but two new book synopsis'. Talk about information overload! I've sifted and surfed through the book descriptions for you, picking out the juicy bits of yummy goodness. I didn't know where we were, but I kept on moving. We (luckily) didn't encounter any monsters.
But, I did see my house.

Ok, so the first thing I thought of when I read the sample chapters was the Argonautica. It seemed to be an easy connection because the hero was Jason and the main character of The Lost Hero is a Jason. Is the connection between The Heroes of Olympus and the Argonautica just superficial? I think not!

Let start with who was on the mission. There may be more, but these are the people that everyone agrees were there.

My Theories

Everyone has their own theories. He are a few of mine (if I did all of them you'd be reading this for days:P)

Theory 1:
Jason has been to one of the different camps before. Coach Hedge zei something like, "I've never seen u before in my life." Think about it, the mist, maybe? He may not know it, but he's tricking everyone into thinking he's always been there. This might be one of my stronger theories, because Hedge did mention that he was probably good with the mist because he's never seen him and Piper is his girlfriend and Leo is his bestfriend, though he has no memory of them.
