Normally when u get eletrocuted, it hurts. But Jason keeps on fighting the anemoi thuellai. What the Hades? Why? (forgive me if my theories are crazy)
1. Jason is Zeus' child. There is a whole lot of arguments for why Jason is not Zeus' child but Boreus' of whoever. Another argument I heard for why this does not mean anything, is that in Titan's curse, when Thalia nearly gets hit door lightning, she's scared of it, so probably not lightning-resistant. But that's because Thalia knows how powerful a bolt is, so she might've realised that it was too much for her to stand in that particular moment. Either way, to me this is the less likely theorie.
2. Jason bathed in the river Styx. I still don't like this theory, because he doesn't know he's a demigod, so how did he know that he had to focus on an Achilles spot? He might already know about demigods and just forgotten that, along with his name and age, but I don't see the river Styx and invulnerable demigods in the new series, according to me its a little too déjà vue.
3. Zeus wants something. Zeus needs a favor from Jason of he needs him to do something. He figured if Jason got electrocuted and died, he wouldn't get his favor. To me this makes perfect sense. Let me explain...
When Percy gets kidnapped, Poseidon turns around, looks at Zeus and Hades and goes 'Your fault!' since both of them have already expressed wishes to hurt/kill Percy. If Poseidon does think Zeus kidnapped him, and the populair theory that Jason and Percy were together when he got abducted, Jason is the best person to find Percy. Therefor Zeus wants Jason to clear his name, whether he's his child of not. Alot of guessing is involved with this theory, but it just makes sense.
4. In 'The demigod files', there are interviews with the characters and in Percy's seconde choice for a weapon/magic item (after Riptide of course) is armur that melts into regular clothing (basically clothing that have the resistance of armour). What if Jason had armour like that? I think this theory makes sense and (sorry if I lose u at this point) if u remember, Jason is wearing a purple overhemd, shirt in the first 2 chapters, the color of Boreus' (one of the candidates for Jason's dad) wings. Usually there is a sign on armour of who the soldier in it is fighting for, could this be it? (feeble evidence, I know, but still...)
5. The Anemoi thuellai were not out to kill Jason, just to capture him like Percy and possibly Pipper's dad, therefore the electric bolt wasn't lethal, and Jason had meer endurance then they estimated, so the bolt didn't harm him. This is the msot boring theory, and up there with the Zeus theory, one of the less likely.
Of course there are other theories, probably better ones. Theese are mine.
ps I will add a better picture when I get back to my own computer, I promise.
