This is my first Vampire Diaries fan fiction ,hopfully it works. This is set in Season 3 when Stefan is away with Klaus.

Elena's POV
As a glanced across the room the first thing my eyes came across were another pair. Damon's.
Stefan had been gone for a maand now and I'd stayed with Damon everynight, alternating from his house to mine with Jeremy and Alaric.
He'd been nice, unusal for him. There was no meer desperate to be the bad brother in him anymore. He'd gegeven up on that.
We'd snuggled up together on the bed some nights. The first few, without stefan, I'd cried and Damon just held me.
We were closer now.
He walked slowly over the room towards me. Wow I loved the way he walked. No that had to stop he's read it on my face.
"Well these town parties sure used to be meer fun, I mean come on everyine was running around screaming 'vampire' everytime someone drank a glass of red wine. Now it's just speech after speech. blah blah blah."
He looked at me from the corner of his eye, smirking.
"How about we get out of here then?" He said.
I'd love too would have been my immediate responce, but that wasn't anything like the hard shell I usually had.
"Damon," I said, "Do I look like the type of girl who would run of with a ravenous vampire at any chance she got?"
There, that sounded right.
"Yes, yes u do." He zei simply, "Shall we?" He offered me his arm.
I gestured for him to leave and followed shortly after.


That night we were talking and the usual subject of Stefan's whereabouts came up.
"Why, why did he have to leave?" I said. This vraag was always popping up in my head.
"Shhh, forget him," Damon whispered.
And then for the first time ever, he leaned across the sofa and kissed me once, plainly on the lips. We wer in love.
