Caroline was hanging in the Grill when her phone rang. She let out a deep sigh when she noticed it was her ex-boyfriend Matt. “Hey, Matt” she said. “Caroline, hi, I’m glad I can finally reach you” Matt replied. “What do u mean?” Caroline asked avoiding. It had been two days since she last spoke to him and she had very consciously ‘missed’ his calls. “Is something wrong? Are u avoiding me? Because if u do I would understand. I mean, I did break up with you” Matt softly said. “I’m not avoiding you, okay? I’m just hooked into something, I can’t explain it” Caroline zei hesitating. “Can’t u try? During lunch, maybe? I’d like to talk to you…about us.” Matt suggested. “There’s no us, Matt. Like u said, u broke up…But girls have to eat, so maybe lunch might be not so bad. Can I call u back on that?” Caroline asked. “Promise u will” Matt said. “Okay, I promise” Caroline zei and she ended the conversation.
“Boyfriend issues, huh?” the girl volgende to her at the bar said. Caroline turned around to view the clearly underage girl drinking beer. And it wasn’t the first one. “You know it’s rude to eavesdrop a conversation you’re not part of” The girl drank from her beer. “I wasn’t eavesdropping. u really need to lower your voice a bit” “You shouldn’t be drinking. You’re a minor” Caroline zei cold. The girl laughed. “Okay, yeah, I’m a minor, but that doesn’t make u my legal guardian, u know. And don’t take your problems with Matt out on me” Caroline’s mouth dropped open from unbelief. “I’m not taking anything out on anyone. God, why am I even talking to you?” she muttered, meer to herself than the girl. She walked away, the girl watching her leave.
