Tokyo Ghoul Vraag

Can someone explain to me

I just finished reading Tokyo Ghoul manga, and then there Tokyo Ghoul:re. Whats the connection to between these two? Is :re a sequel of prequel to the main TG storyline? Is it the same storyline just from someone else's perspective?
