Before I start my rants, I would like to clarify this obviously does not apply to everyone, and if I mention your ship, it is an example and most likely not referring to you, so PLEASE don’t write essays about how I am wrong, this is simply what I have seen.

When they hate one character in it, but claim to love the couple anyway.
Okay, this one, without a doubt, pisses me off the most about people of claim to ship couples. I used it see it a lot with SOME (not all, but a significant number) of chair and delena fans. I don’t see it as much in the chair fans, but I used to see it a hell of a lot with them. But now I am starting to see it a lot in the DE fans. For instance, a few episodes after Damon ’KILLED’ Elena’s BROTHER, Elena didn’t want to be his friend. Everyone on the DE spot was raving about what a horrible person she is. Seriously? Truth is, if you only like a couple for a certain person, you don’t ship chair or delena, you are pretty much just looking for another reason to ship Chuck or Damon. Pisses me off.

When they 'watch the show only for them.'
This one goes without explanation, here is an idea, try watching the show and other characters and you might find yourself a little more in other storylines.

When they go crazy if they didn't have a scene in that episode
I would actually like to apologize in advance because of the icon I used, because Puck and Quinn fans, are actually really cool, and very civil, I just ran out of couples.

Back to the topic, I HATE it when people go crazy because their favourite couple didn’t have a scene in that one episode. I mean, be upset or angry by all means, but when people full on go crazy and make picks about it...yeah that’s taking it a bit too far.

When they are overly bias to one character in the ship
Again apologizing for icon use, seeing majority of LP fans are very level headed.
This annoys me too. I have honestly seen a girl say that she would hate a character (forget which one it was) if they cheated they cheated on their boyfriend, but if the boyfriend cheated on said character she wouldn’t mind, simply because she preferred the guy. MIND = BLOWN.

When they attack you if you don't think their desired couple is 'epic' or whatever
I think it is safe to say just about everyone has been attacked for not liking the awesomeness or epicenes of a certain ship. I kind of sit there going ‘abusing me isn’t going to make me change my mind.

When they are a little too obsessed with them

This is hard to answer because I feel we can all do these things at one time or another but I agree with what you said in regards to this one. We should enjoy the entire show not just your favorite couple in it. FYI If your couple is going through a rough patch, that does not mean the show sucks.

BUT! I so do not agree with the first one. Jate is my OTP yet Kate is my least favorite out of the main characters. Does that mean I'm not a true Jate fan? HELL NO! I'm a raving Jate fan and I love them more than life itself. You can like a couple together yet not be too fond of one or both of the characters in it. And truthfully it kind of pisses me off when people act like I have to love both. Blair's not my favorite, so you're saying someone who loves both Blair and Chuck is a more worthy Chair fan?

i'm a hardcore DE shipper and I think Elena should hate him even more at this point. i don't know which comments you're referring to but from what i've seen most DE shippers understand why Elena acted the way she did.

anyway i chose this option because it's unbelievable how much hate Damon gets from some Bamon fans.

This is the only one that bothers me... cause it's the only one that affects me. I couldn't care less why someone likes a couple or what they like about a show... all I hope is that if they watch a show I like, then they will continue watching so the show gets good ratings and stays on the air. But if they hate one character in their couple, when they are overly obsessed with the couple, if they watch the show only b/c they love one couple on it--- none of that affects me so I don't really care. I don't think I've ever watched a show just for a couple or a character... so while it doesn't bother me if someone else does, I would think it must be kind of frustrating to watch episode after episode just hoping your favorite couple will have a scene. It doesn't bother me... I just think that probably sucks for the person who watches solely for that reason.

But it definitely does annoy me when people don't respect the fact that I have different taste than them... so when they get mad that I don't like their couple or don't think their couple is "epic"- or when they get mad at me for liking a couple they dont like and for thinking a couple is "epic" that they hate... well than that's pretty annoying.

I don´t understand this at all, I could never ship anyone I hate!
I certainly wouldn´t want that person together with my favorite character.

I didn't that. See, just say (hypothetically) if you hated or really disliked Blair for instance, then I personally don't understand how someone can ship her in their OTP if they supposedly dislike her so much. This is refering to OTP's, not just liking couples. Normally OTP's are your favourite couples, the couples you love. I hate it when people say they hate one character in their OTP, but claim to love them as a couple. It's fine to prefer one character to another, it's fine to not see them as your favourite characters, but when you hate/strongly dislike one character and adore and love the other, thats when I start to think 'who are they actually shipping?...' It is just a little bit sketchy to me.

^^Yeah some Delena fans piss me off when they rant about Elena should forgive Damon straight away. I really would hate to think how they would act if they were Elena and they watched their brother/sister being killed by Damon. I know that the fact that he wore the ring means yes he can be forgiven, but it will take a LONG time. The way Elena reacted was EXACTLY how I would have acted, maybe worse in fact and lately I've been liking Elena more than Damon because Elena needs more love.

I actually get why some people watch a show because of their couple.. i mean a show can suck and still have an amazing couple which you adore!

There are quite a few that annoy me actually, but this the most.
Especially in shows where the couples aren't the main couples such as crime shows. Forgive me for using my OTP here, but when Tony and Ziva don't have a scene, I actually understand. It's not the Tony and Ziva Show, and to be perfectly honest, I DON'T WANT IT TO BE! Sure, it would be nice to have a smidgen of a moment, but it's not the end of the world, even though I do see something whenever they're together. Anyway, this annoys me, the couples shouldn't always get the screentime, that's not the point.

All except being too obsessed. I can understand that, sometimes I get carried away too. But this I'll never understand. How can you possibly like a couple when you hate one of the characters?!

I just hate getting into ship wars with people [[mainly some LP fans]] for no reason. But when someone bashes BL, I always feel the need to defend them. All the other things I can understand. For instance, I absolutely love Jeyton but I really,really dislike Peyton. I mean they're not my OTP but it's the same principle.

I can't stand people who insults you only because you hate or don't love their OTP or worse when you hate the couple and you love the rivals couples as Lucas/Peyton or Brooke/Lucas ; Stefan/Elena or Damon/Elena ; Nate/Serena or Serena/Dan etc...

I disagree with the first option, cause I love many couples and dislike one of the charactors. For example Ryan and Marissa, sometimes I hate that girl, but I still love them as a couple. I can also understand why some people only watch the show because of a couple, because you can continue to watch a show due to the couple. I know people who only watched OTH because of Lucas and Brooke and stopped watching when they broke up. So I think that's normal.
I don't like it when people go crazy about their couple not being in an episode, but it doesn't bother me much to be honest. And I think it's fine for people to be obsessed with couples..it's a free country..but I hate it when people attack others about it.

If they literaly hate one character is kinda hypocrite, but for example: I dislike Lucas... But I like him with Peyton (Leyton's one of my fav couples) and I thinks Brucas was a good couple.... His a better version of himself when he's with other person, but overaly I don't like him.

What do bothers me is if I don't like a couple I don't like it. Period... And if someone doesn't like one of the couples I like, that's OK too!

people like different things about the shows, and if the couples are their favorite, that's great. but we are ALL entitled to our opinions and it should come without ridicule!
