Really, what a pointless waste of your time. u are clearly one of those many people who are like 'urgh, that Twilight trend' because you're not into it and it annoys u to see it everywhere. Well I'm sorry if Twilight isn't your thing, but people who hate Twilight and its fans seriously need to chillax. Just ignore it all, don't get worked up about it.

Because it`s extremely overrated. It has been done so many times before. Most girls in the Twilight age (aka me) don`t know squat (aka not me) and don`t know this.

Firstly it's a complete insult to women... possibly the most misogynistic book I've ever read in my life. The themes are completely Victorian.
Secondly it's totally unrealistic. Yeah, I am aware that vampires aren't real but the EB love story is beyond unrealistic. Lets face it, there have been cases of people dumping their boyfriends cause he's not Edward Cullen. A love story like that doesn't exist and SMeyer shouldn't be promoting it.
Third: It's a complete disgrace to vorige vampire fiction. Sparkles, seriously? That's a burn.
Also, none of the characters are remotely 3-D, and they all make terrible role models. The only characters that have any hint of depth are Edward and Bella, and they're both dependant, love sick wusses who would fall of a cliff to hear the other's voice of commit suicide cause they thought the other was dead. Not to mention that NONE of the characters have any flaws, and that makes for terrible fiction.
And finally, some of the fangirls are rabid. Full details link but some people (not all) do treat the book as some sort of bible

I agree sort of that they have kind of went over the top, boven since the movie door making lip chap and other things and such but it doesn't mean that the book should never have been written, but there are still people out there who like the series like myself.. Sorry u feel that way

Okay, don't get me wrong: I love Twilight. But it is NOT the best thing ever written. It's kind of a ripoff of Vampire Diaries and every other vampire story out there, plus sparkling in the sun? Really? Also, anyone who thinks that Vampire Diaries is copying Twilight, u are MISTAKEN. Vampire Diaries was published in 1991! And LJ Smith IS a genius, there's no way around that. So is Twilight the best book ever written? No, not really. Do I still love it? Of course! How could I not?
