I guess u might want to know what Kayla's car looks like. This took me, like, ages to pick out a good car that didn't look too flashy because the Cullens want to reamin inconspicuous. I know that the car doesn't have a black interior but just imagine that it does. I couldn't find a good pic with black interior.
I loved my car. I loved the black leather interior and the new car smell. I wanted to stay inside this car forever and not leave it alone but all too soon I had to go home. I hated it. I didn’t want to leave it alone in the Cullens’ garage. My car was new. The other cars might pick on it.
“You can come see it tomorrow,” Edward smiled. “You can take it for another drive.”
I was standing protectively volgende to my car. Edward was in front of me and failing to get me away from it.
“You can’t take it home,” Edward reminded me. “What would Charlie think?”
“He won’t mind,” I said. “He would love it that u bought me a car. It’s one less thing for him to worry about buying.”
“He might be ok with it, yes, but when people ask who bought u it, what will he say? ‘It was Edward Cullen that bought her the car. He’s a rich vampire, u know.’ ” Edward mimicked Charlie’s voice very accurately. “Charlie can’t afford to buy u this kind of car. People will start to think things. Like he stal it from a crime scene and such.” He pulled on my hand. “Come on, u can visit it tomorrow.”
“But they’ll bully him.” I stroked the kap of the car, as if to comfort it.
“Who’ll bully him?” Edward asked.
“The other cars,” I replied. “Everybody bullies the new kid.”
Edward chuckled and kissed me. My hand left the car and touched his cold cheek. My other hand grabbed his shirt, using it to pull him closer to me. Edward’s arms were around me and holding me tightly. I felt my feet leave the ground but I didn’t care. All I wanted was Edward. Nothing else mattered. Edward’s lips were moving away from mine but I refused to let to let them. I used my hand on his cheek to stop his head moving away, securing his lips on mine.
“Kayla,” he chuckled against my lips. “We have to go. Charlie will be getting worried.”
“Screw Charlie,” I said, kissing his lips. I felt my feet touch the ground again. I still had my hand wound up in his overhemd, shirt and I pulled him closer door his shirt. I heard a ripping sound. I was going to ignore it but Edward pulled his lips away from mine, chuckling and looking down.
“Kayla!” Edward was laughing now. “You ripped my shirt!”
I looked down at my hand and saw that it was no longer near Edward. Edward was standing there and had a fist sized hole in his white shirt. I was standing with white material in my hand.
“You can’t blame me!” I said. “I swear that hole was already there.” I dropped the ripped material to the ground.
“Sure,” he said, smiling. “In the car.”
It was only then that I realised I was no longer near my car. I was standing in front of Edward’s Volvo.
“Where’s my car?” I started to panic, thinking that someone had stolen it while I was distracted.
“Right behind you,” Edward turned me round and I sighed with relief when I saw my black BMW right where I had left it. I started to walk towards it but Edward picked me up and sat me in the passenger zitplaats, stoel of his Volvo.
“NO!” I half screamed. “I don’t want to leave him!”
“Have u named this car?” Edward asked me, sounding slightly exasperated. He was fastening his seatbelt in the driver’s seat.
“No,” I replied, my voice high-pitched. I tried to clear my head of all thoughts but I didn’t manage it in time.
“George?” Edward turned to look at me. “You named a BMW George?”
“Or Samson,” I said, quickly and defensively. “I might possibly consider contemplating thinking about calling him Samson.”
Edward shook his head and reversed out of the garage.
“What’s wrong with George?” I asked, defending my car.
“Nothing,” Edward was lying, his voice was too smooth.
“Are u dissing my car?”
“No.”
“Yes u are! How dare you! I’ll have u know, George is a very strong name.”
Edward didn’t say anything but I saw his shoulders shaking with silent laughter.
“What do u think I should call my car?”
“Whatever turns u on, Kayla,” Edward muttered. It was something that I never thought I would hear him say. He spends way too much time at school. He shouldn’t be allowed near the foul mouthed youths of today.
“Well then, I’ll have to call it Edward.” I spoke this quietly, not intending him to hear me. Edward’s Volvo did something I never thought it would do. Not with Edward behind the wheel. The car swerved nearly driving into another car on the opposite lane. I didn’t have time to scream before the car was driving straight again. I think he possibly may have heard me just a little tiny bit.
After I calmed down from the near death experience I started laughing. I couldn’t believe he had reacted so badly to what I had said. It was quite funny. I was shaking with silent laughter while Edward kept his eyes firmly on the road, his back straight and his hands gripping the steering wheel.
I was still laughing when he pulled up in front of my house. I unbuckled my zitplaats, stoel riem and opened the car door.
“I’ll see u later, yeah?” I said, watching him carefully.
He nodded stiffly.
I got out the car and watched him drive away. I would have to clear up a couple of things with him later when he came to my room after Charlie was asleep.
I walked into the house and found Charlie in the kitchen, rather than his usual place on the sofa.
“Hey,” I said, sitting down at the table. “What are u doing in here?”
“Making u dinner,” Charlie said. He opened the door to the oven and pulled out a tray of something. I couldn’t see because Charlie held it in front of him deliberately.
“Will I survive this?” I asked, warily. Charlie wasn’t the best cook in the world. Hell, he wasn’t even the worst cook. He was even worse than the worse cook. It was amazing what this guy could achieve when he put his mind to it.
I watched as he placed this unidentified food onto two plates. He then proceeded to scoop mashed potatoes onto each plate.
“Voila!” he placed a plate in front of me.
I looked down at the food and was amazed I could recognise it. It was a simple gammon steak. I smiled at the fact that Charlie managed to cook it and make it look recognisable.
“Very good.” I clapped for Charlie and he beamed, obviously proud of himself. He passed me a fork and mes and sat down across from me with his own plate.
We were silent for a few moments as we tasted his cooking. It tasted as it should taste and I was very proud of him. My dad, Charlie Swan, actually cooked something that looked and tasted exactly as it should.
“Well done,” I said, clapping again. “You actually cooked something.”
“I’m just as amazed as u are,” Charlie laughed. He was eating slowly, chewing with great concentration. He wanted to talk. That’s why he made me dinner.
“What’s wrong?” I asked. “You never make avondeten, diner unless there’s something behind it.”
Charlie put down his fork and knife, although his plate wasn’t even half empty.
“I wanted to talk to u about what you’re going to do after school.”
That didn’t seem such a bad thing. He didn’t have to make me dinner. I continued to eat my own food.
“I was thinking of sending u back to England to your mom.”
I was in the middle of swallowing a piece of gammon when he zei this. I was so surprised that the gammon went down the wrong pipe and I choked. My fork dropped from my fingers and clattered onto my plate. I coughed, trying to dislodge the meat from my windpipe. When it was safely out of my windpipe and on the plate in front of me, I spoke.
“What?” I gasped. “You want to get rid of me?”
“No,” Charlie said. “That’s not what I said. I just thought that maybe u want to go back and see your mom again. You’ve been here a jaar and not seen her once.”
“Maybe because she doesn’t want to see me,” I replied. “Like u said, I’ve been here a jaar and she stopped calling me after three weeks.”
I picked up my fork and started stabbing at my food.
“Do u not want me to stay here?” I asked him quietly. “Is that it? If it is, I will go.”
“It’s not that,” Charlie sighed. “I thought that u might be missing England and want to go back but I was stopping you.”
Why would he be stopping me going back to England? My mum’s fiancé Darren did that for him. I wondered if he still hated me.
“I think Sarah misses you,” Charlie zei softly. “Even though she doesn’t call of write.”
“Sure mum misses me,” I snorted. “Just as much as she would miss having a great big boil on her ass.”
“Kayla-”
“Dad, look. I came out here to get away from Darren, who is a complete asshole to me. If I wanted to go back there I would have.”
“You won’t leave because of Edward.” Charlie zei this like it was a fact.
“Edward of no Edward, I would have gone back if I missed it that much.”
Charlie looked down at his plate. He thought he knew everything. Yes, I wouldn’t leave Forks now that I have Edward but if I really wanted to go back, if I truly missed my mother really bad then I would go. There was just nothing there for me now that Darren was with her. I would be getting in the way.
I put down my fork volgende to my plate. I had completely annihilated my dinner.
“I’m going up to my room,” I muttered, standing up.
“I’m not forcing u to go,” Charlie zei quickly, knowing he had upset me. “I was just suggesting. I didn’t actually mean u had to go.”
“I know.” I said.
In my room I lay on my bed. I felt utterly depressed now. What Charlie had zei made me wonder if I should go back to England after school. Not forever, maybe a holiday. Forks felt like my home pagina now. I didn’t know if I could truly leave this place forever. I closed my eyes. I hadn’t realised I was so tired until now. I pulled my hoofdkussen, kussen down under my head. I didn’t even bother undressing. I just let myself drift of to sleep.
I loved my car. I loved the black leather interior and the new car smell. I wanted to stay inside this car forever and not leave it alone but all too soon I had to go home. I hated it. I didn’t want to leave it alone in the Cullens’ garage. My car was new. The other cars might pick on it.
