Edward was born in Chicago, which means he should have an American accent. It wouldn't have fit, unless Alice and Emmett had British accents as well. Then, he could have been "adopted" in England. Nope. Doesn't work. Sorry.

I agree with everyone above. I'm a sucker for a British accent, but it wouldn't have fit.

im english so you know i imagened the whole book with every one having english accsents. n when i tried to picture it with an american accsent all i could hear was my grandads stupid deep south one thats got a hint of birmingham in it.(hes from georgia)

i think he sounds hot with an english accent, but cute with an american accent! but ya it wouldnt make sense since he's from chicago.

just gotta add this: i had doubts at first about how well he would play Edward, but after seeing the third twilight trailer i totally think he'll do a good job!

I know that he sould not because Edward' born in Chicago.. but Robert is so irresitable with his british accent. Anway, i'll just love him however the way he did it.

He is American not English! but i do think Edward should have the slightest English accent but only a little one that wouldn't suggest he was English but suggest he was more proper in the way he speaks.
