What makes a story good is when a writer is able to sacrifice characters that people didn't want to die because it adds a new level of emotion and surprise to the story and is more relistic, because in life people die whether we want them to or not. For instance, in HP and the deathly hallows SO many people die, its not even funny, yet its the most popular book out of the Harry Potter series. Out of all the 7 books its the most emotional, complexed and shoking yet still the favourite (out of the HP books) I know I would have prefered it if there was at least a war in Breaking Dawn and in that war someone the auidence loves, dies. Like I dunno Emmet because that would have made just about everyone upset and it would have been surprising. But I think the part that annoys me most is that there is barely a war to begin with, they just sit around talking about there issues with the Volturi.

I totally thought it would have been good. Like, I don't want anyone to die, but what 'crazychlo' said explains it all. Hah, maybe even Bella herself. :D

Yes, that's why Breaking Dawn is my least favourite book. Everyting just ends too perfectly. A death of some character would've made Breaking Dawn more interesting.

Crazychlo is so right! Bella and Edward and all the Cullen's just basically stand around and have an afternoon discussion with the volturi. It's like they've sent an invitation out inviting the volturi to come around for a cup of tea. It's so unrealistic. There are all these vampires there and only 1 dies, Irina. Kate should've got away and actually attacked Caius and started some sort of fight so some people could've died. Maybe someone could've killed Jane even though I would've hated that, and maybe Kate or Tanya or even one of the cullen's and some of the shape shifters could've been killed off just to make the story more complex and have more depth. That fact that everyone went there separate ways and there was a 'happy ending' where they would all live for ever together and perfect kinda made it unbelievable. Breaking Dawn could've had such a great war and such a good plot twist and story line if Stephenie Meyer could've just let go of some of her characters. I really hope they put in a massive fight in the movie!

I do agree that the whole Volturi interaction was boring and I do think that a real fight would have been much much more interesting. I am ok with sacrificing some of the characters as long as they are not part of the Cullens. I do think that death would have made the story a lot more twisted, unpredictable and emotional but I would have been totally devastated if anyone of the Cullens died.
