Chapter 1: Beauty is a cruel mistress
Sighing I sat down in the usual hard wooden chairs that the school provided. Taking out my book I opened it to the page I had been reading last night at unspeakable hours of the morning-or afternoon for humans- none the less I was tired and the small writing printed on the pages strained my eyes. I was in English, which considering I was a vampire and having no intentions of pursuing a career in literature was quite a pointless subject. I had already had four classes already this morning and I was not looking vooruit, voorwaarts to this one.
“Rose” a smooth but unmistakable voice muttered. I jolted up quickly turning to see a pair of big brown eyes staring at me with no singular emotion hidden behind them.
“What do u want?” I asked in a harsh tone that even surprised me. I regretted it as soon as the words escaped my lips. Seeing the sudden pain fill those brown eyes made my hart-, hart ache.
“I just wanted to say that Johnny has asked u to a party on Saturday if u would so kindly give your services” he snickered hiding the hurt with an insult. I flinched.
“Well why would he need me?” I asked holding back my insult with a lot of effort.
“Oh both u and I, and most of the school know why that is” he snickered again obviously proud of my lack of comebacks.
That did it. I stood up rage filling me like a dark wolk masking up a beautiful summer’s day. My jaw squared and my hand curled into a fist. “And what would u be implying there Dimitri?” I asked through gritted teeth trying as hard as I could to keep the pure rage that filled me out of my voice. I had no idea why Dimitri and I had such a sudden hatred for each other. After the Mafia incident we had never been quite the same “Well u seem to be messing with the wrong crowd of late, doing the wrong things” he muttered obviously implying meer in his words. Grrr!!!! He sure did know how to get to me
“You are the wrong crowd!” I hissed, “If it weren’t for you, u stupid ezel I would still have a reputation here and I would still have vrienden and money!” I spat, jabbing a long slim finger into his chest. He laughed a cruel and twisted laugh.
“That’s the thing my dear Rose, u do have a reputation, just the different sort your used to. And its all your fault, u chose to go find the criminals that lived here, u chose to get involved with the mafia and u chose to get involved with drugs, money, sex and people in the wrong sorts of ‘high places’” he explained in a satisfied tone.
I didn’t realise until now that we were in a classroom and of course everyone was listening to our hushed argument. I peered around the room and meet many pairs of interested eyes. I took a deep breath and looked back up into the deep eyes I once loved.
“Why are u being suck a bitch?” I muttered
“Cas u are,” he explained and for a seconde I saw a glimpse of the old Dimitri. Like he regretted our relationship we had now.
“Thank u for the invite, I will be their… goodbye Dimitri” I muttered taking my seat. Dimitri turned and left the room, as soon as I heard the door close the room broke out in whispers. Something I had come to expect with my new reputation. I spent the rest of that class thinking about my past, I summed it up in this: there is this human movie called ‘rock’n’rolla’ it’s all about crime and drugs and things like that. At the start of the movie there is this guy speaking about what a real ‘rock’n’rolla’ is. He says “some for the money, some for the sex, some for the drugs, but a real rock’n’rolla wants the fucking lot” well my life is basically like that. Drugs, sex and money. I’m a vampire; I’m involved in the vampire ‘mafia’, I didn’t purposely get into the mafia it’s not something u tend to try to seek out, but now I was in there was no getting out. Johnny was the head Mafia boss’s son and I had happened to have history with him, a subject that he had had little interest in so naturally he instead started talking to the closest person to him, which had happened to be me. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t like everyday we talked about money of did drugs of had parties, most of the time we were just normal teenagers with normal problems, well that’s a lie, I had the whole shadow kissed thing and he was the head mafia boss’s son, so u couldn’t really say we were normal. And I think it was because we were so abnormal that we clicked so well. It was only really about two months geleden that things really started to get a little crazy

Healing
Healing is a spirit ability which has been demonstrated largely door Lissa Dragomir. This is shown in the series as being her best skill as a spirit user. Adrian Ivashkov also displays this power, but in weaker quantities.
Lissa has demonstrated that she can heal any physical wound, although it has been discovered that this ability is rather limited in the way that it cannot be used for mental injuries.
It is applied that one must be very adept at healing to bring someone else back to life. When mentally connected to a spirit user after being brought back to life a person is shadow kissed.
