Tap. Taptaptap

He kept throwing small pebbles at the clear window until the pastel roze curtain was pulled to the side to reveal a confused looking thirteen jaar old girl. Her long brown hair was messy as she rubbed her dark brown eyes and pulled on the strap of her overalls. Looking down, she smiled a toothy grin and opened up her window to look down at the fourteen jaar old Logan. He had his school bag hanging from one shoulder, but it looked fairly empty due to the fact it was summer time.

"You know I'm supposed to be sleeping right now," she says quietly down at him. Logan smiled a little, "And what's with the bag?!"

"We both know u don't want to. And the bag is for something I wanna toon u when it gets dark." He says quietly back up to her. The sun was just on the brink of setting.

"I don't know, Lo Lo," She says nervously, looking behind her for a moment before looking back down to him, "Is it totally worth it?" He smiles and nods at her.

"Of course it is, Chlo. Now come on!" A soft smile appeared on Chloe's face and she nodded, disappearing from the window, only to come back to throw down her roze and blank Converse, barely missing Logan. "Whoa, hey! Watch it!" He hisses up at her, a small, light giggle could be heard before the window slowly closed.

A few minuten later, Chloe came out through the backdoor, running up to hug her best friend and grabbing her shoes and hastily putting them on.

"Come on, get your bike. Where we're going is a long way from here." Logan says quietly, looking down at her small frame, moving to push a strand of hair behind her ear. Her eyes followed the movement of his hand slowly, pulling away from him after he pushed the strand away, walking towards the shed to pull out a new shiny blue bike.

"What happened to the old one?" She didn't answer, not looking at him. The realization dawned on him and he pressed his lips together, "Oh..." He zei quietly and opened up the gate for her as she pushed her bike through the grass, onto the sidewalk. He closed the gate, making sure it didn't slam behind them.

The sun was just starting to set, and the sky was starting to turn dark, the bright roze and oranje colors disappearing. Chloe's heavy breathing could be heard from behind him, which was mixed with the sound of glass clinking together from his bag.

"Logan... Where are we? I'm starting to have some trouble breathing." She whispers.

"Don't worry, Chlo. We're here anyway," He says, quickly getting off his bike, letting it fall to the ground, rushing over to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. She kept breathing in deeply, closing her eyes. He placed his other hand on her cheek and she leaned into it, her breathing starting to slow down. Pressing his lips against her forehead, "You ok?" He asks softly. Nodding, Chloe opened her eyes and stood, letting her bike hit the street. He slowly took her right hand and looked down at her, a small smile played on his lips, "Come on, I don't want u to miss this." He zei quietly, and started to walk towards the wide open field they were volgende to. Chloe quickly followed him, struggling a little to keep up with his long strides as she was dragged behind him.

"Logan! Slow down a little!" She cried out, causing him to pause and look back at her. He adjusted the strap on his bag and smiled a little before picking up his pace again.

"I refuse to let u miss this. It's wonderful, and worth it. I promise, Chlo," He says softly, gently squeezing her hand.

They were out in the middle of the field, he quickly sat her down, sitting down volgende to her. There was no wind, and the only noise that came was from the faint sound of crickets. Chloe turned to look at Logan, it was starting to get darker. He kept staring off, like he was waiting for something to happen. minuten passed by.

"Logan, I don't know what-" She was immediately cut off with him placing a hand over her mouth. His blue eyes were lit with glee as he turned her head away from him. In the darkness, she saw it, flickering bits of yellow. It was slow, but the darkness was lit up door them. "Fireflies..." She whispered softly, her own eyes sparkling with awe. Chloe turned her head when she heard Logan unzip the bag to reveal two glass clear mason jars with very small holes punctured on the top. Chloe's head tilted to the side in confusion as she watched him slowly stand up, dusting himself off and helping her stand up. He handed her a mason jar as a firefly landed on her arm. She stared at it, the firefly was long but small, and it's rear lit up and dimmed out in no specific pattern of order. Logan reached out and snatched it.

"Open the jar," He zei quietly. Chloe blinked before doing what he zei and placing his hand in the jar, releasing the bug and having Chloe put the lid on before it got out. This continued for a while, until they sat on the ground, both jars somewhat filled with fireflies.

It was completely dark now, the moon barely visible, the only bron of light was the fireflies. Less were in the sky now, only a few flew around now. Chloe leaned into Logan, laying her head on him, a barely audible whisper could be heard.

"Thank you, I loved tonight." Logan held her hand tightly, his hart-, hart raced as he smiled softly.

"Anything for you, Chlo," He whispered softly, "Um... Chloe?" Logan looked down at his lap as he wondered if he really wanted to say it.

"What?" Chloe sat up a little, staring at Logan. "You know u can tell me anything, right?" She asks softly, squeezing his hand a little. He turned his head and stared into her eyes, opening and closing his mouth multiple times before just blurting out, "I promise to always stay door your side, no matter what. You're my best friend." Silence. She stared at him as his eyes kept roaming over her face for any sign of emotion. A sudden weight was starting to build up in his stomach as her face twisted into a face of distraught, something was bothering her. He looked down and away from her, he felt his face become hot and breathing became difficult. He opened his mouth to apologize but stopped when he felt her small, soft hands on either side of his face. He looked at her, not saying anything as a small smile spread on her face.

"I promise to stay with you." She zei firmly. Logan's eyes widened, he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her to him as he embraced her tightly. She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck, as she sang a soft song that echoed in the night.
