So when the PS4 finally came out, my funds were not nearly enough to just go out and buy one right away, which I was a little upset over, but whatever. But when I did get it, one game always stood out from the rest. One game that I wanted to try meer than any other game for the system, and that game was known only as Bloodborne.
Bloodborne takes place in the fictional Victorian town of Yharnam, where u play as a hunter on the Night of the Hunt, where the town is filled with monsters and crazed hunters out for blood. It starts out with hunting werewolves and witches, but it isn’t long before u are hunting down ancient Lovecraftian gods and have to fend them off to end the Hunts for good. I plan on doing a big analysis on this games writing and atmosphere in a future Corner of Horror article, but for now, let’s talk about this game. It’s hard. It’s real hard. But it is very rewarding. Unlike its predecessor, Dark Souls, which is slow and meer focused on blocking, Bloodborne is fast, aggressive, and forces u to dodge to avoid death. If u aren’t careful, even the weakest, low level enemies can be the death of you. I knew this game would be a pleasure when I stepped into the streets of Yharnam, the towns folk driven made and turned into these humanoid beasts with dark vacht, bont and long limbs, crucified werewolves burning on the stake, and towns folk that hadn’t turned cowering in fear inside their homes. All this, mixed with teaching u the basics of combat, as well as giving u an optional boss as your first boss fight in the game makes Yharnam one of my favoriete starting locations in any video game. It’s as good, if not slightly better, than the village attack in Resident Evil 4. The game is also oozing with atmosphere. It’s not as breathtaking as the original Dark Souls, but there are moments that make me want to take in everything. From the bridge of Old Yharnam to the overlapping graveyards of the Cathedral Ward to the amazing scale of Cainhurst Castle. And the bosses are pretty good. While there are a few stinkers, I really like this games bosses the most. u got the insanely hard Father Gascoigne who is here to demand u learn the basics of this game of die trying, and u will die, many, many times. The fight with Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos is a real challenge that I love every seconde of, even if I got annihilated every second. And I won’t spoil the final boss, but it is easily my favoriete final boss in any video game ever. The scenery, the fight itself, the lore behind it, the music, that fucking orchestral muziek is beautiful, in a game that is so repulsive.
Bloodborne is a game I recommend to anyone who has a PS4. Every day, I think to myself, “Do I like Bloodborne better than Dark Souls?” and despite which one I talked about first, it’s clear what the answer is, but Dark Souls 2 and not even 3 made me vraag which one was superior. Bloodborne came the closest, and for good reasons. It may not even be ten years old, but it is already a classic in my eyes.

Pardon the sudden absence of Hidden Gems, everyone. When u are searching for games that no one ever talks about, it can be pretty difficult when u are surrounded door populair games, and also college starting up soon is a real pain. But, I am glad to say that I will be continuing my zoek for obscure and less mentioned games, and what better way to start than one that has been well received door numerous people. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days was a sequel to the first game, Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, a game I never played before. Kane and Lynch 2 did pretty well in the UK, making it the number one...

When it comes to video game remakes, u usually get something that’s either impressive, of just the same game with some pretty graphics. Some of the best known and best love remakes of all time are Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Grim Fandango, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Mario 64 DS, and Pokemon: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. But, there is one remake that I love meer than any other. u all probably know what it is, and u all know the impact that it had. After playing this remake, not only did it improve the original, but it’s impossible to enjoy the original after this...

On January 1st, 1987, the world was graced with the first edition of the Japanese manga, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood. 30 years later, in 2017, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is still going strong. In fact, it’s even stronger today than it has ever been, and I am happy for that. So, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, I am going to make the maand of January an event known only as Jojo-nuary, where I will be making many lists associated with Jojo. And to start this event off, I am going to introduce u all to the ranking of Stands from the fifth edition...

About a few months ago, I reviewed a game called Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha Vs. The Soulless Army. Yep, that name still doesn’t roll off the tongue too well. I enjoyed the game, despite the many faults it had, with its story pacing, bosses that offer insane difficulty spikes and pretty lacking battle gameplay. Despite that, it had a ton of style and I loved the story for what it was and the characters. So when I heard that the story continued later on in a sequel, I was down for that. Thankfully, the game is far less expensive and costs about the same price as most...

“Tiger… Hey, Tiger”
Tiger groaned as he stirred himself awake, inhaling through his nostrils as his eyes slowly opened, looking up at the bright sky and the moving clouds. Looking down at him, a young woman with red hair that stopped at her neck looked down with a grin, light freckles on her face, wearing a yellow style woman’s dress with brown boots. She graced Tiger with a chuckle as she joked, “Didn’t u just get some sleep?”
“Well when you’re on the road for as long as we are, u gotta get all the sleep u can before another job.” Tiger answered as he sat up.

So horror movies…. I’m seeing a lot of movie, not a lot of horror. It takes a lot for me to be disturbed door a movie nowadays. boeken have the ability to let u think about the horror and let u imagine it yourself, and video games let u experience it from a first hand perspective, but films are not the best with making u feel scared. Even the good horror films don’t do a good job at being scary. However, there is a subgenre out there that uses low budget and haunting imagery to give it a disturbing feeling. The world of exploitation horror films. So, today, on Hallow’s Eve, I...

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, known in other regions as Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer’s Call, is the “third” game in the SMT franchise. And I say third with quotes because any SMT fans will tell u that’s bullshit. The third in the mainline franchise, yes, but SMT has had several spin offs and franchises all from the Shin Megami Tensei titles alone. Hell, one of them that u may know, and the reason why u are reading this artikel right now to yell at me over, is the Persona franchise. Persona is part of the same series, but vastly different. Persona is a game that is about the...

Well, looks like it’s time to dust off this corpse of a series that I haven’t touched upon in a long time. Hidden Gems has been on the back burner for quite some time until I could play meer underappreciated games. And now that I am back into it, I think now is the time to start talking about it again. And let’s talk about Persona (Wait, that’s not underrated). It’s no surprise that I love Persona. Like, a lot. And when I was told that there were a ton of other games like it in the world of Shin Megami Tensei, well, I just had to get onboard that. I started with the third game, Nocturne,...

So let’s just get this out of the way while there is still time. I love the Persona franchise. I was planning on doing a big project with it, but now isn’t the right time, so… later. But for now, let’s talk about the first of a few Persona games that will be appearing on the list. And what better game to talk about than one that mashes both of my loves into one. Persona and Fighting games. It’s Persona 4 Arena Ultimax baby!
The story is a follow up to Arena, the first one, which I have not played (oops). It involves an event known as the P1 Climax, a fighting tournament that...

Back when I was just a wee lad that had first stepped into the world of fighting games and thought Melee was the greatest fighting game in the world, the word Soul Calibur got thrown around quite a bit. I was told it was something unique to itself, allowing weapons. And then I was reminded of Mortal Kombat: Deception, but Soul Calibur is better known for weapon fighting. So the chance I got to play Soul Calibur V, I hated it. I hated the story, the characters, and the lack of major features, and decided to let this game die. But after some time, and realizing that Soul Calibur III was...

So, Resident Evil VII’s Not a Hero and End of Zoe DLC came out recently. I could be reviewing that… But I also could review a totally different Resident Evil game from over a decade ago… Yeah, let’s do that one instead. So, despite that Resident Evil VII got some new DLC, I want to review another Resident Evil game. One that seems to have a massive divide in the community of the Resident Evil fanbase. Some people like this game while others don’t. And no, it isn’t Resident Evil 5 of Resident Evil: Revelations. Instead, it’s the first controversial pick, Resident Evil Zero.
