I was wondering why I was awake this late at night, and sitting on the lounge's couch, staring at the black TV screen.
Maybe the seawater got to my head, I thought with a groan.
I lay down and closed my eyes tightly. I really hate it when it takes a long time for me to fall asleep.
My first Robin quit to become his own hero, repeated Batman's voice.
The first Robin.
I looked at the clock on the other side of the room. Surely, Batman would be in his other persona right now, right?
I got up and walked to the Mission Room with the big computer.
I tapped a keyboard button, and the screen lit up. On it, were three files that read "Headquarters", "Superheroes", and "Sidekicks."
I moved the muis over to "Sidekicks" and clicked.
Thousands of artikels came up, and my eyes looked to find "Robin".
Finally, it came up. I clicked on it, and three results came up.
The first Robin, Dick Grayson, left Batman to become a new hero called Nightwing.
The seconde Robin, Jason Todd, was beaten door Joker and was blown up.
I remember Robin telling me that...
And the third Robin, Tim Drake, was the latest one in Young Justice.
Hmm, Tim Drake, huh? I felt ridiculous that I was dating this boy for a jaar and I didn't even know his name.
I clicked on the first Robin, the Nightwing. It zei that he patrolled mostly in Gotham City, somewhere near Bludhaven.
I remembered it was midnight. Well, I had nothing else to do.
I flew back to my room, changed into jeans and a blue blouse, and headed for Gotham City.
When I reached Bludhaven, a bank robbery was occurring.
What did u call it, Bats? The never-ending battle?
I flew to the ground and summoned the earth to block off all exits in the bank. The robbers were stuck in there.
I had to act fast before they could shoot the windows out.
Think, think, think, Erica. The old Pooh beer saying.
I was too late. The robbers used their guns and shot the glass down, then ran out. They shot me a few times, not knowing that I was invulnerable to bullets.
I let the earth fall back to the ground and pursued them. They were just a few feet in front of me, why couldn't I catch them?
Gah! My lack of sleep.
Suddenly, a black line appeared in front of them, tripping them. A man in a blue and black suit came from the sky and roughed them up.
When he tied them up, I was gaping at him.
He looked at me incredulously. "What?"
"So you're the Nightwing?" I asked as I came up to him.
"You were looking for me." It wasn't a question.
I gasped. "Batman told u already?"
He smirked. "I know everything there is to know about you, Erica Richards."
"Shh!" I hissed. I knew I should've listened to Mom about having a secret identity like the rest of them.
We heard sirens from behind us, always too late.
He shot his grappling hook onto a building, motioning me to follow him.
I flew after him, and we ended up on top, boven of Wayne Enterprises.
He stood in front of me, and put his hands on his hips. "What did u want to talk to me about?"
I never thought out what I'd actually say to him. "Umm, why did u leave Batman?"
He looked away. "Things change."
I rolled my eyes. "Red Arrow told me he was being treated like a kid."
"That's the thing," he said. "They never wanna let go. It's like a mother and her children."
I stifled a yawn. "Batman keeps telling me that I should leave the team and become my own hero."
"Well, that's your choice to make. Your thoughts might change in time..."
I didn't hear the rest of his sentence, for I already drifted off to sleep.
