"Twist. Duck. slaan, smack to your left. Watch out for the Atlantian at 4 o'clock." The whispers in my ear grew harsh and cold as I fought for my life, of so it seemed to me. The earpiece was incredibly uncomfortable, and for once I wished that Slade would approve of telepathic communication. I whirled around and kicked the Atlantian in the face, then sent a column of flames towards the Martian girl. My hair, a deep reddish brown, fell wildly around my face as I reached the edge of the building's roof. I turned towards the six teens. Some were on the ground, others were helping them up. There was one, however, who had been persistent the whole fight. Robin. That was his name.
"No where to go now," he accused. Everyone was now standing and facing me. "We have you. Just surrender."
"No," I agreed, "there is no way out, is there?" I giggled slyly. "But why on earth would I surrender? What have I done wrong? What can u accuse me of?"
This answer took everyone door surprise, but only for a short time. "Surrender now," a deep voice ordered. It's about time Batman showed up, I thought. Now was the time to make my exit.
"Sorry, Bats. No can do," I yelled. I made direct eye contact (well, mask contact) with Robin.
I'll see u soon, Dick.
His eyes widened as I jumped straight off of the roof of the 100-story building, heading directly towards the concrete sidewalks.
"Infinity! What are u doing?" Slade asked me as I took a sharp lift and began to fly south. My black and oranje suit delivered a shock throughout my body, a warning to go back.
"Oh, be quiet. There isn't a way they can follow me-"
"You know what I'm talking about. Go back and get the objective." Another shock- this time at least 3 watts higher.
I narrowed my eyes, and entered free fall. I dropped through a small opening into a dark workshop. The sound of my boots clicking on the floor echoed around the walls and gears of the place. I stopped in the middle of everything, the light glaring onto my figure. "I'll do it some other time," I promised.
"But what if there is no other time?" Slade stalked out the shadows and placed his hand on my shoulder. "I only want whats best for you, sweetie-"
"Will u please stop calling me that? I'm not related to u at all! It sounds weird and creepy when u say that to me!" I shuddered his hand off of my shoulder and whipped around, smoothing my hair down, to no avail. "I just- I just need some time to be alone. Please just let me go to my room." He sighed and nodded, and I floated off down a dark hallway to a door equally black. But when it opened, there was a great contrast to the rest of this "home." The walls were painted a baby blue, and in the corner a bed with a multicolored spotted reversal comforter stood for when I needed rest. There was a televisie with cable, a mini fridge, a desk, a closet- everything a normal thirteen jaar old girl's room would have. The only difference was that I wasn't a normal girl. I used my powers to change myself into a pair of fleecy soft pajamas and plopped down onto the mattress. I grabbed a soft plush wolf and curled up with it, reaching underneath my pillow. I pulled out a picture. Four figures with deep black hair stood together smiling- a family. My family. But only two were still alive.
I used my powers to change my hair to it's original black color. Taking the earpiece out and placing it on the bedside table, I whispered to the young boy in the picture.
"You'll find me, Dick. I know you. You'll find the truth, and you'll save me from the living hell that is my life. Because you're my twin brother. That's what we do for each other."
