Willow felt worried. After all they'd done to get the antidote, it was a fake. And now she was running from security guards and assassins. I hate Lex Luthor meer than ever! I should've payed meer attention when Becca was teaching me how to hack! Narrowly missing a bullet, Willow ducked under the closest thing. Unfortunately for her, it was a large dumpster. When she saw their feet go past, Willow crawled out from under there and wiped herself off. She turned as a gun shot was heard. The bullet was pointed right at her. There was a blur of blue and white. A teenage boy stood in front of her, holding the bullet in his hand. His hair was wild a red, his white costume accentuated in blue. And it fit nicely on his toned body. When he spoke, his voice was teasing but melodious.
“Wow! u are loosing your edge Slade! Need some help?”
Another bullet was fired and the hero scooped Willow up before speeding away. He stopped a few blocks away, looking at the girl in his arms. His smaragd, emerald green eyes lit with pleasure.
“What are u doing on the streets at this hour? Don't u have a bed of something?”
Willow stared up at him, her mouth open in surprise. He smirked.
“Cat got your tongue?” He leaned down and peeked inside before looking back at her. “Nope. No cat there.”
“You-you look just like Wally!”
“Wally? Who's Wally? The name's Speed. If u were a hero, I'd tell u my secret ID.”
“I am one.”
He looked genuinely surprised.
“No way! You're too cute!”
Willow smirked and teleported out of his arms and onto the straat a few feet away. He smiled.
“I apologize. u clearly are of the supernatural. And not just your talents. My hero name is Speed. But u can call me Billy. I prefer Speed.”
“Well thanks for the save. And the compliments. My name is Willow.”
“Hmm...matches u perfectly.”
Willow smiled brightly.
“So this Wally? He's your boyfriend I'm guessing.”
Willow's face dropped and the tears suddenly poured out of her. Billy looked at her for a minute. A distant gunshot caused him to scoop her up bride-style and speed off again. This time, he didn't stop until they were in Central City. He sat on a bench, moving Willow beside him. He kept a strong arm around her and let her cry for a few minutes.
“Look, Willow...I'm sorry for whatever I said. I didn't mean to make u cry.”
Willow sniffled.
“No. It's not you, Billy. There's just...a lot going on. Wally was my boyfriend. But he dumped me.”
“Why? Was he blind?”
“No. He wanted to know about my past. That's not a place anyone should go. But then my best friend, my sister, got this warning. She lays dying while the rest of our team sleeps.”
“There's more?”
“Yes. A total of eight. We are a covert team. But my sister Becca...she has had a rough history as well. She has been hunted and now she is dying. But I have no cure! I just...don't know how to help...”
The tears came again and Billy pulled Willow close.
“What are the symptoms?”
“She was attacked door Dark Magic. It started out as a lot of pain but soon became a coma. Now she lays covered in a Wiccan's shield as she dies.”
“Do u have any idea who did this?”
“I have only one name and it's Masq.”
Willow heard a deep growl from his throat and looked up at Billy.
“What's wrong? Do u know her?”
“Unfortunately, I know her too well.”
