Alright, this is my first review ever, so don't be too hard on me, got it? Anyway, I'll be reviewing an anime I just finished. This anime is called Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, of Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun in English. The toon is about a girl named Sakura Chiyo trying to confess her love to the boy she has a crush on, but accidentally getting pulled into the odd life that is writing shoujo manga.
Now, there's a lot to say about this show. First of all, let's talk about the music. The muziek really fits the tone of the show, and I'll admit it; the opening theme song is probably one of the best I have ever heard. The one song I didn't really care for was the ending song, but I'm not one to really sit through ending songs anyway, so I just skipped it.
Overall, the muziek definitely gets 8.5 Tanukis out of 10.
Now, onto the art. A lot of shows get yelled at for giving characters the same face, but that's certainly not the case with GSNK! The faces fit each of the character's personalities and there is a huge difference between, say, Mikorin and Nozaki's faces. This toon is also big on "not everything is what it seems", so watch out for that. Their appearances may be pretty different from who they really are.
Overall, the art gets 9 Tanukis out of 10.
I already mentioned the plot, but if u come into this toon expecting loads of romance, that's not what you're going to get. This toon is mostly a comedy, with some little romantic bits between Sakura and Nozaki thrown in. All of the characters have their own quirks and are really individuals. They help verplaats the story along and are actually really interesting. Introductions of characters aren't awkward and are brought into the toon casually. u learn a lot about their character the longer the toon goes on, and it's really interesting to see them develop. My personal favoriete happens to be Kashima, but I also love Wakamatsu and Mikorin (Mix both of them together, you'd get something similar to my personality actually.)
So, the characters, plot, and of course the humor, all get 9/10 Tanukis
So, if u like comedies and cute romances, this toon is really for you! I know I personally loved it, and honestly it's probably my sixth favoriete anime of all time!
I would give this toon 9/10 Tanukis! It's really great, if you're interested, I highly recommend trying it out. I actually got my friend who hates anime to watch it, and even she loves the show!
