What struck me is the chemistry in this scene and the genuine ease and warmth and the globaal, algemene dynamic of the two characters, Coulby and morgan play off each other so beautifully.

Watching this episode makes me a really bad Arwen shipper. When I see how insanely adorable Gwen's crush is and oblivious Merlin is equally adorable, I can't help but think 'what if...'

I LOVE this scene so much. They are just precious and adorable here. I agree, Zoe. There are some scenes between these two that make me almost forget about my love for Arwen, lol.

It is because both are very warm beings and so, they are kind of sensitively gentle with each other. Both kind of lost, both seeking acceptance in the strangest ways and have a relatively secure sense leaving their backs to each other. To me all the meer reason she should find out about his magic before Arthur, who, though I do love him, has a strong tendency to be oh so blonde in all the wrong ways.

it reminds me when they used to make fun if Arthur in season 1
then the part where he accompanies her to the datum and says that she looks lovely , he had hearts in his eyes haha

This is another one of mine. Because we see under Arthur's pratness that their friendship is real.
Another one is when they save each others lives in the poisoned chalice and when Arthur comforts Merlin after Freya died. But I have so many.

I love the scenes where Arthur comforts Merlin. Twice Merlin has had to hide his grief, both times Arthur picked up on it (sort of) and tried to cheer him up. I love that Arthur is not completely oblivious when it matters.

Bloody brilliant scene rose, re immortal army. I so adore Merlin at times, just want to squish him and call him George. Never mind, will explain that some other time. Thank you. One of the best scenes of their bond. Thank you! I almost forgot about this truly fabulous scene.

I can't find a clip of my other favourite scene from 103. Merlin's first visit to Gwen's cell. She looked so small and vulnerable and then she says "remember me" with that voice, and that sad, little face - I was a goner. Merlin's concern was all over his face. Too sweet.

Another one is their conversation after Tom's death. The best parts aren't in this clip. Merlin's "I think you've been amazing" and "I know he was innocent". Merlin is such a pal. So supportive. Then we get some rare insight into Gwen's feelings. Which is always nice.

Oh both of these scenes shows how beautiful their friendship is. The first one u mentioned always makes me cry. I had the same thoughts about Gwen. Tiny and vulnerable but yet so strong. She looks so young there. And Merlins determination to fight for her.
