4x09 Synopsis 

Arthur decides that he wishes to make Gwen (Guinevere) his Queen, and so enlists the help of Merlin in order to have him prepare the proposal. The news rapidly spreads, and Agravaine tells Morgana, who then wastes no time in setting off to find The Dochraid.

The Dochraid - a mysterious creature like an old woman - tells her of the parting of the waters. Then, a figure emerges from the gloom, but who is making a return?

Meanwhile, Merlin talks to Gaius about how concerned he is about the returning member of Camelot, and he believes Morgana's played a part in who has reappeared. But will she be discovered?

Pretty much what I said the other day. Bring it! Bring it baby! Arwen will defeat this bullshit.

It seems like so much storyline for one episode. I wonder how it will at play out. Merlin doesn't usually end on cliffhangers unless it is listed as a two parter, so............

God i think i might just burst if i don't write something down about these up-incoming episode(s)!!

Firstly, I still remain convinced that the "what were you doing" scene will appear in episode 11 BECAUSE, after seeing Lamia, i reckon gwen will leave camelot without resolving the lancelot snog of episode 9 with arthur, so i think she will go to stay in the same village that appeared in Lamia (because we are now aware that she has a previous connection/old friends there) - hence the "gwen returning to camelot" statement in the synopsis for episode 11.

Secondly, this "what were you doing scene" according to dale's tweet, is shown out of context in the trailers we've seen, it's their best AND he refers to it as a "beautiful scene" - which can only lead me to one conclusion, arthur and gwen thrash out their issues from ep 9 etc and make up and then ep 11 ends with their wedding.

Thirdly, as ep 11 (in my ever growing theory!) ended with their wedding, this then sets the catalyst for the remaining two part finale. Morgana will be pretty pi**ed at arthur and gwen getting married ("that servant sits upon my throne!") as she believes the throne/being queen belongs to her, so she decides to act before gwen's coronation insert - battle for camelot/aggravating's comeuppance/tristian and isolde/epic battle/winning epic battle and gaining camelot back - with the series finally ending with gwen's delayed coronation and possibly a merlin magic reveal cliff-hanger!!

Heeeeey, nessarthur. I really like this. I really can see this going that way. I was thinking about the fact that she knew these people already and they were close so yes, no doubt she will go to stay with them after episode 9 until ep. 11. I think we're getting close. And for some reason I'm less bothered than I was last week after first reading about the Lancelot episode. Tonight's episode really helped for many reasons.

I still kind of hope that Arthur sends her away for her own safety, so they can sniff out this traitor. But based on Arthur's quote "What were you doing" especially if it is in ep 11, I am probably off base. I agree with HQ that tonight's episode seemed to have a calming affect on all my anxiousness about the angst coming up. I may have to watch this episode every day next week. Like the song says "Your love, your love, is my drug" I said on another post that I might need drugs to get through this week afterall.

@nessarthur, I like your ideas. Now that I've thought over it I realise I would prefer it to be in ep 11! And yes, this ep was so beautiful with Gwenventures, BFF momnets and Arwen all in one! We need more like this!

i want to be excited about this episode but knowing it's going to go sour is so annoying .... ep 11 seems like such a long way off ..... x

OMFG!! I havent watched episode 8 as i write and came straight here after reading this press releases for epi 9!!!!
And all these comments are making my heart thump faster than any drum you can find in the world ....

Oh dear, now i have to find a good conclusion to my story!!

did anyone notice at end of the heartbreaker Gwen still had Arthur's ring. Cant wait for ep11 GWEN RETURNS.....
