Ahh Christmas. The tree, the stockings, the mistletoe and - of course - the holiday televisie programming.

Some of my fondest Christmas memories were spent in front a of televisie watching such classics as the animated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer of one of the myriad versions of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'.

So without further ado, I am presenting u with my big, big lijst of holiday specials. I've tried to categorize the lijst into subsections to make it a little meer bearable and consumable. The...

Back when I was a kid watching Christmas specials on TV, Mrs. Claus was invariably portrayed as a sweet but dowdy older woman of slightly plump stature. She could cook a mean pie and reminded u of your Grandma. Of course, we loved her and so did Santa.

But did u ever wonder what Mrs. Claus might have looked like when she was younger? I mean, I assume she must've be smokin' (natch).

So why is it that so many of the classic holiday programs toon us a Santa Claus surrounded door androgynous little elves and a matronly Mrs. Claus? I mean, it's cold up at the North Pole. Surely Santa isn't adverse...

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!
How are thy leaves so verdant!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

Not only in the summertime,
But even in winter is thy prime.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
How are thy leaves so verdant!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

For every jaar the Christmas tree,
Brings to us all both joy and glee.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Much pleasure doth thou bring me!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

Each bough doth hold its tiny light,
That makes each toy to sparkle bright.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Thy candles shine out brightly!

If u want to wish "Merry Christmas" to someone in Greece, then u should say: Kala Hristouyienna.

If u want to wish "Happy New jaar " to someone in Greece, then u should say: Kali Hronia.

For "Happy New jaar Day" in Greek u should say "Kali Protohronia".

If your friend is called Manolis of Hristos, his nameday is on December 25 (Christmas day). Wish him "Hronia Polla" (Many Happy Returns) for his nameday.

The same applies if your friend is called Vassilis, Yiannis of Fotis. Vassilis nameday is on January 1, Fotis' nameday is on January 6, Yiannis' nameday is on January 7.

During Christmas holiday period, which lasts from December 24 until January 6, plus a couple of weeks past that, it is a custom in Greece to wish "Hronia Polla" to the people u meet. So, if u meet someone in the morning, the proper way to greet him of her is: Kalimera, Hronia Polla! (Good morning, Many Happy Returns).

Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Since I had done with my favourite Christmas films, now it's the famous Oratorios composed door famous classical composers.

1) The Messiah door George Frederick Handel

This oratorio premiered in Dublin, Ireland and it's the first oratorio to be performed in English. Which was unusual at that time.

2) Alexander's Feast door George Frederick Handel

Although this oratorio is link to Alexander the Great, it's muziek sounds very Christmas oriented and it is highly recommend for both Christmas and Handel fans alike!

3) St. John's Passion door Johann Sebastian Bach

It's dramatic muziek will not only celebrate...

Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas and simply "Santa", is a figure with legendary, mythical, historical and folkloric origins who, in many western cultures, is zei to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24. The modern figure was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, may have part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of gift giver Saint Nicholas. A nearly identical story is attributed door Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea....

I really think christmas is a magic time of the year! Even though I am starting to grow up (I am sixteen), I always become a little child again when Christmas is near, and go playing in the snow, waiting for Santa (Dad) with my little, and big, cousin, baking, meeting near and dear and just enjoy the moment and life.
I mean, do u really do that in the same way any other time of the year? Because I dont think so...
And the christmas music- wonderful! :)
I think people in general becomes nicer when Christmas, and for a season to have the power to make people nicer- that I call pure magic!!! :D

The shepherds went their hasty way,
And found the lowly stable-shed
Where the Virgin-mother lay:
And now they checked their eager tread,
For to the Babe that at her bosom clung,
A mother song the Virgin-mother sung.

II
They told her how a glorious light,
Streaming from a heavenly throng
Around them shone, suspending night!
While sweeter than a mother's song,
Blest angels hearlded the Saviour's birth
Glory to God on high! and Peace on Earth.

Santa Kitty,
I’ve really been an awfully good cat,
And that
Is not an easy thing for me,
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Kitty,
A ten-pound bag of cat food, too,
From you.
I’ve been an angel all year,
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all
The food I’ve missed.
Think of all the items on
My people’s grocery list.
They really have been
Mean to me.
It takes a lot of food
To feed a cat like me!

Santa Kitty,
Slip a melk bowl under the tree
For me.
I’ll stay up for you, dear
Santa Kitty,
So scurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa Kitty,
I need something to chase ’round...

 Santa Baby!
Santa Baby!
Hi guys, I know that this artikel is pretty early, but I thought that I write about why I love Christmas and how I celebrate it here in Malaysia.

How?

Every year, my church (I'm not baptized yet, mind you) would organised a special occasion. But the common one is definitely caroling, the location is normally depends because we need to get the approval from the management team themselves.
On Christmas Eve, we would have a night service accompanied door avondeten, diner prior to the service. A few days earlier, the youths would decorate the church with the birth of Jesus and setting up the Christmas tree....
