Back when I was a kid watching Christmas specials on TV, Mrs. Claus was invariably portrayed as a sweet but dowdy older woman of slightly plump stature. She could cook a mean pie and reminded u of your Grandma. Of course, we loved her and so did Santa.

But did u ever wonder what Mrs. Claus might have looked like when she was younger? I mean, I assume she must've be smokin' (natch).

So why is it that so many of the classic holiday programs toon us a Santa Claus surrounded door androgynous little elves and a matronly Mrs. Claus? I mean, it's cold up at the North Pole. Surely Santa isn't adverse...

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say Merry Cristmas to all of u fanpoppers out there.

If u believe in god of u don't, it is always a special dag for families and vrienden to toon how they really feel about one another, either this being food fights, real fights of praying for the less fortunate, spend it as a way that is special to you.

Living in Australia, i have always had sweaty, hot christmas'. Christmas morning spent with my mum and in the afternoon, it is spent with my dad. This is all that i have basically known, i am just grateful that i get to spend one of my most favourite days of the jaar with my whole family.

But remember that christmas is not just about the presents of the food, although it is the best part lol, it is about family, vrienden and santa.

So spread the joy and love that this season brings, spread it to everyone that u know and maybe even to those that u don't. Have a great christmas :)

Ahh Christmas. The tree, the stockings, the mistletoe and - of course - the holiday televisie programming.

Some of my fondest Christmas memories were spent in front a of televisie watching such classics as the animated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer of one of the myriad versions of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'.

So without further ado, I am presenting u with my big, big lijst of holiday specials. I've tried to categorize the lijst into subsections to make it a little meer bearable and consumable. The...

Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas and simply "Santa", is a figure with legendary, mythical, historical and folkloric origins who, in many western cultures, is zei to bring gifts to the homes of the good children during the late evening and overnight hours of Christmas Eve, December 24. The modern figure was derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, may have part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of gift giver Saint Nicholas. A nearly identical story is attributed door Greek and Byzantine folklore to Basil of Caesarea....

Since we're all still in Christmas mood, here is my comparison for both the 1966 animated short with its live action film made in 2000.

1966 Animated Short

This animated short that started it all! I love the vibrant and how colourful this animated cartoon, it's whimsical animatie style will make u love this cartoon and Dr. Seuss, his artwork fascinates people even in today's generation, the theme song 'You're Mean One, Mr. Grinch!' has even been covered in the TV series, 'Glee' that I could not get it out of my head after listening to it recently.

I love Christmas, it is one of my favoriete holidays ever. Even though it was meer exciting when I was a child of even a teenager. But I grew up and my sister who is 7 years younger than me, she's 25, I don't see her as much, even on holidays as she lives with her boyfriend of a year. Plus her job as a VJ at our local radio station takes up a lot of her time. Then there is the fact that my nana on my mom's side always put on the best Christmases, Christmas was also her favoriete holiday, but sadly she passed away 4 years ago, then with my Aunt and Uncle going to either New York to have Christmas...

Christmas is Coming!
Hi guys, I would like to write some of my favourite Christmas Activities here as I am feeling the Christmas blue already!

1) Carolling

I absolutely love to sing, despite that I'm a very shy person, I love to do it for the charity and pleasure of cheering people up!

2) Shopping

I had always love this, and 2 years geleden I bought a t-shirt from Esprit for my Piano teacher and for myself. I'm very blessed to have it as of today!

3) Church Christmas Services

To be honest, I have an annoying habit to wake up late lately to go to Church and I hope that I do not have to do it especially on Christmas day. Please pray for me! I love to see all of my new friends.

4) Christmas Lights

I love taking foto's with my Nikon DSLR Camera, and I would go down to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to snap foto's of Christmas lights of I'm lucky enough!

Believe!

Hi guys, since Christmas will be coming here, I will be writing down some of my favourite Christmas songs may it be Carols, from Christmas films of from other artists who performed famous Christmas carols.

As Long As There's Christmas

This song is taken from Disney's midquel, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. Belle sang this while decorating the boom and it was sung door Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack, I absolutely adore the lyrics because it's very symbolic especially about Christmas day!

The First Noel

The tune is very pleasant to listen to and it tells us about the 3 Wise Men receiving...

Well, around after Thanksgiving, I have an ear for Christmas muziek of any kind surprisingly. Maybe it's the holiday vibe? Let's cut the shit and get to it!

Major Lazer - Christmas Trees

I just found this lot too long geleden today. A good reggae song with holiday vibes. Good to hear a holiday song from Diplo's Mad Decent. I wish Spinnin could do the same.

Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Quite a pleasant tune to listen to.
Since I had done with my favourite Christmas films, now it's the famous Oratorios composed door famous classical composers.

1) The Messiah door George Frederick Handel

This oratorio premiered in Dublin, Ireland and it's the first oratorio to be performed in English. Which was unusual at that time.

2) Alexander's Feast door George Frederick Handel

Although this oratorio is link to Alexander the Great, it's muziek sounds very Christmas oriented and it is highly recommend for both Christmas and Handel fans alike!

3) St. John's Passion door Johann Sebastian Bach

It's dramatic muziek will not only celebrate...

If u want to wish "Merry Christmas" to someone in Greece, then u should say: Kala Hristouyienna.

If u want to wish "Happy New jaar " to someone in Greece, then u should say: Kali Hronia.

For "Happy New jaar Day" in Greek u should say "Kali Protohronia".

If your friend is called Manolis of Hristos, his nameday is on December 25 (Christmas day). Wish him "Hronia Polla" (Many Happy Returns) for his nameday.

The same applies if your friend is called Vassilis, Yiannis of Fotis. Vassilis nameday is on January 1, Fotis' nameday is on January 6, Yiannis' nameday is on January 7.

During Christmas holiday period, which lasts from December 24 until January 6, plus a couple of weeks past that, it is a custom in Greece to wish "Hronia Polla" to the people u meet. So, if u meet someone in the morning, the proper way to greet him of her is: Kalimera, Hronia Polla! (Good morning, Many Happy Returns).

In Germany, today is the First Advent – meaning the first of the for Sundays before Christmas. It is often the last Sunday in November, but this year, it happens to be exactly on December first. Advent is here the time we spend in preparation for the Christmas celebrating, lighting one candle every Sunday.

The sixth of December is a very special day, Nicholas day. The prior evening, everyone in the house is cleaning their largest pair of shoes and putting it in front of the fireplace (or another special place). The volgende morning, the shoes are filled with sweets – if the children have been...

Epiphany in Greece is known as Theofania of Fota. The first sanctification of the Epiphany (The Enlightenment) takes place in church on the eve of the holiday. Afterwards, the priest goes from house to house holding a kruis and a basil branch. As he walks through each house, he uses the basil to sprinkle (bless) all the areas of the home.

An old custom in Crete , which is almost forgotten today, was the preparation of the fotokoliva (boiled wheat with peas) on the eve of Epiphany. The fotokoliva was eaten door the people, but they also fed it to their livestock, which was believed to insure good...
