Please try to remove your bias and please try to remember that none of the princesses are really that feminist!
I don't really want to repeat everything that's been said about Rapunzel vs Ariel, you can go back to previous rounds and read comments if you really care. But Ariel is at least fighting male oppression (her fathers) and I don't see anything unequal about Eric and Ariel's relationship except her lack of voice, which was Ursula's fault. Not Eric's.
I sometimes see Rapunzel as a bit of a damsel-in-distress. She seems not to be able to do too much without help. I think the main reason I can see her this way is the way she is just left by the boat and just stands there when Flynn leaves. Also, Rapunzel was considering going back to the tower (and people say Belle has Stockholm Syndrome.) When Ariel is in the new world she'd dreamed about, she is obviously shown not wanting to go back. Ariel also decides to go after Eric when he is going off with Vanessa, whereas Rapunzel turns to Gothel. Ariel just seems in general more independent to me than Rapunzel, and I mean in general, not just when it comes to men. There are times where I feel like Rapunzel can seem like a damsel in distress, but I never get that impression from Ariel.
Wow, Belle's gotten voted for.
Anyway, I can't believe Jasmine's gone before Rapunzel and Ariel. And I don't want to repeat everything I said about them 2 already. Too lazy to type it again :)
rhythmicmagic:"Also, Rapunzel was considering going back to the tower (and people say Belle has Stockholm Syndrome.) " Rapunzel thought Gothel was her Mother not her Kidnapper, so she was being a good daughter by wanting to return to her Parent. Unlike Ariel, Rapunzel had respect for Gothel and was a obediant, loyal good kid.
I keep seeing people using the argument that Ariel wanted to be human before she met Eric and that she sold her voice for her dream to be a human and not to just be with a man. Well Rapunzel was planning to leave her tower before she met Flynn and she most likely would have come up with another plan to leave even if he had not dropped in, but she was resousful and used his pressence to her advantage. She Used a man to help her and They worked togeather to reach thier goal (they worked equally man and woman) Flynn took Rapunzel to the Bar to scare her but instead she ended up saving him....and she also saved him in the caverns and when they were drowning...Seems to me Flynn ended up needing Her more then she needed him and she also saved him in the end with her love instead of the other way around...I see her being a lot more stronger and Braver then Ariel ever was and closer to being feminist then Ariel too....
It really amuses me that Jasmine is gone, when she's more of a feminist than rapunzel and ariel. this is all about favorites, that's why it's pontless to make these polls imo. meh whatever.
