Best: Animation and soundtrack. The climax of the film, as well. I also like the way the differences between America and Britain are portrayed, I'm bot American and British and think it was rather accurate, America more wild, loud, and independent, Britain more reserved. At least how they are in theory.
Worst: The middle, kind of in general. Everything sort of stalls a bit and just sort of settles. Also Ratcliffe.
What could have made it better: If they had done one of the following with Ratcliffe- gotten rid of him, made him a Frollo-like racist genocidal psychopath (which there is potential for in certain scenes) or just kind of a misunderstood leader (which there was also potential for in certain scenes.)

Best: Animation and Score...not necessarily the songs, they are a mixed bag in my ears.

Worst: The Character design....Pocahontas acts like a teen but looks like a woman in her mid-twenties, John Smith is too perfect (even the villain fanboys him), and Ratcliffe is one of the worst villain ever...too pouncy to be threateting, too serious to be comical.
The plot is incredible bland and overdone and the whole movie is full of filler scenes, and while the climax looks impressive, the way the movie ended up there is very contrived.

What could have made better: Getting rid of the villain - since the message of the movie is that prejudices are wrong, there is no villain needed. The movie should spend more time with both groups. John Smith learning to appreciate Pocahontas point of view should process slower. The whole scenes focussing on the side characters should be cut out. But above all: The movie should be more "adult" and actually acknowledging at one point that the future of the natives looks bleak indeed.

Best: The animation and the soundtrack. The animation is breathtaking, the colours are stunning, the animation is one of the Disney best! And the soundtrack is amazing too!

Worst: The characters. Pocahontas is imo, a bit boring and John Smith is annoying. The villain is useless. Meeko,Percy and Flit are cute but that's all.
And the plot is , like Swanpride said, bland and overdone with full of filler scenes.

What could have made better: with a more interesting villain and more interesting character.

Best: Animation and Soundtrack. I personally think the soundtrack is the strongest out of the Renaissance, the songs and score are strong and meaningful. The animation has a realistic and refined look to it, and it is differently animated from every other Disney film

Worst: Pacing and Governor Rafcliffe. The pacing in this movie is horrible. The introduction takes up half of the movie and Pocahontas does not meet John until midway through the movie, so their relationship is a bit rushed. There are a lot of scenes that are too long or too short, which gets kind is boring. Governor Ratcliffe is a pompous, in ompetent villain. He is not scary or funny, and is just there

What could have made it better: If they shortened some scenes, took out Governor Ratcliffe, went without cliches, Pocahotas and John met earlier in the film, more scenes with the Natives and Europeans, a d I the movie was longer. The movie is like an hour and 10 minutes. The best thing would have been if it was better paced.
