Nothing about this movie has anything to do with what actually happened.

For those who were concerned about including Pocahontas in this countdown, I am going to include it because this countdown is about the accuracy of the DP movies versus their original source material. Even though Mulan and Pocahontas are not fairytales, they are based off of legends/historical accounts, and thus I am going to keep them in the countdown.

Definitely. Almost (if not all) probably did not happen. Pocahontas was a lot younger; John was a lot older and was not an Adonis look-alike, Ratcliffe was barely a part of the story, even Virginia looks different. Pocahontas and John Smith were friends, and the reason she jumped over him (historians are saying that this probably did not happen) was because of a ceremony. Most of what Smith wrote down has proven to be false.

Aladdin would be my next vote.

Moreover, 'Pocahontas' was just her nickname, not her real name.

Oh...I missed the first round...but I would have gone for PatF either way. There is nothing left of the original fairy tale, even worse, it enforces the idea that the original tale is about a princess kissing a frog.

Tangled is actually very accurate despite being such a different story. I would say it's much closer to the original tale than Aladdin or The little Mermaid, because it retains it's original meaning. Plus, all the original elements, the long hair, the tower, the mother who eats a plant during pregnancy which results in her child getting kidnapped, the healing tears, all is still there.

Pocahontas was based on the LEGEND, not the historical account!
Sure, all the basic elements are the same, the tower, the hair, but it is a completely different story.

^^ Yes but the legend was based on the historical account, thus making the original source of the story of Pocahontas the historical account - that's why I'm using it rather than the legend in this countdown.

Yeah, pretty much! I was gonna vote for Tangled but I think the changes improved the story. But Tangled's leaving right after Pocahontas.
