I'm sorry Cinderella, I just can't remember once selfless thing you did, I bet she is really selfless, just the other ones we see being selfless, nothing personal.

Going to a witch to get something to "change" her mother... oh yeah that's real selfless.

^ I disagree with the person who said Anna. Anna sacrificed her life for her sister.

Merida hands down. She didn't stop to think what might happen to her mother. She only wanted to change her.

She definitely learns better by the end, but she still spends pretty much the first 2/3rds of her movie (at least) being the most selfish since Ariel.

Digoenes picked Elsa:
Flees her kingdom and leaves it waist deep in snow, threatening thousands of lives, possibly destroying crops and who knows what else. When Anna tries to bring her back she kicks her out. Merida's actions are selfish and extremely short-sighted but she eventually realizes her mistake and bonds with her mother. Elsa is not written very well and I can't think of a moment where she thinks about her actions.

^ Did you watch the movie? She didn't know what happened id Arendelle. And she kicked Anna out of her palace because she was afraid she could hurt her.
Merida in the other hand thinks about herself during most of the movie.

I agree ^. Elsa lived a hard lifetime, always being put down. She fled her kingdom to protect them. She kicked Anna out to protect her; for Elsa it was the only option. For her it was a sacrifice. She's one of the most selfless. Merida on the other hand only thinks about herself, nobody else, but she does learn in the end.

The only reason I didn't' vote for Merida, is because, the whole point of Brave is that Merida put away her selfishness and learned to be selfless.

^How could she not realise her winter?IT'S AN ETERNAL WINTER FOR GODS SAKE.You do not realise you have bestowed a winter over Arendelle and shrug it off.The only explanation is that she does not care.I hate how the movie denies this and portrays it as an innocent mistake instead of implying that Elsa WAS selfish when leaving Arendelle to starve and excuses this because she 'didn't know.'This would have been a great opportunity to explore her character arc and make her REGRET this. And she KNEW she struck Anna. She saw;don't argue otherwise. And her response to this is to kick her out with a giant snowman?Sorry,I got rant-y.Argh,this always happens when Elsa and selfishness is brought up!I get sensitive.

Merida is one of my favorite disney princesses and Elsa is one of my least favorites, but I'm not going to be bias here, I don't think Merida is self-less, "changing" her mother, she learned her lesson though.

Merida is one of my favorites, but for 2/3rds of Brave she was extremely selfish about her freedom that she was willing to change her mother, not caring about all the things she's done for her before. The good thing is that she went through a hella lot of character development and learned her lesson in the end.

@prinelsa Blame the directors of Frozen for that. The truth is she didn't know. Once she knew she started to feel bad. I know it might sound weird that she didn't know and I didn't know that but she didn't. The directors didn't want her to new.
"I hate how the movie denies this and portrays it as an innocent mistake instead of implying that Elsa WAS selfish when leaving Arendelle to starve and excuses this because she 'didn't know."
Gosh! She didn't leave Arendelle to starve to death. As stupid as it might sound to you in the movie she didn't know. So how can she be selfish and leave them starve to death if she didn't know?
Disney didn't deny it. They just wanted Elsa to not know so she could have a reason to run away. Blame the directors not Elsa. If she didn't know then she didn't know.

^ Me either. It's either that the haters decided not to comment or there is rigging. She actually didn't do much in the movie to be selfish.

*Sigh* I love Merida with all my heart, but, yes, she was very selfish during at least the first part of the movie. But, she learns her lesson at least :3
(And who voted for Anna and Punz? Anna sacrificed her life for Elsa and the first thing on her mind was to find her, even when she froze her heart, she still said "No, I'm not leaving without you" And Rapunzel gave up all her freedom to save Flynn's life, and if that isn't selfless than what is??) Sorry, ranty mode :P
