How come we never see Belle's mother in Beauty and the Beast?

Well in the orignal fairytale adaption she had 3 sisters and a father but i'd say her mother died after she was born ,probably from childbirth, I dunno but probably she did

Basically in the original story Belle had 3 sisters and her father. The mother probably died in childbirth seeing as this was set in the 1800's (I believe). The reasoning as to why a lot of the princess' do not have mothers is the fact of the issues that Walt had with his mother. Hence why only a couple of the princess' have mothers

I think her mom died. But really very few of the princesses moms, Belle, Ariel, & jasmijn just have dads, & Snow White & Cinderella have stepmoms. Aurora is the only that has a dad & a mom.

Belle's mother is dead. She lives only with her father. Most of the Disney princess' mothers are dead.

Her mother died like Ariel's if u read any version of the tale she has siblings mostly sisters raised door a single father hope that explains things better

I think Belle's mother is dead. Based on the new Beauty and The Beast, it says she died of "the plague." This probably means she died of The Black Plague of the Black Death, which was widely spread across Europe at the time. She could have also died of childbirth, which would be another good explanation.
