Elsa from Frozen is one of the coolest characters in all of fiction. Why is that? Well, she literally is cool, because of her ice powers. However, I believe that there's a lot meer that makes Elsa such a cool character.
Elsa is both vulnerable and powerful
Some people have a hard time relating to fictional characters that are extremely powerful, because they seem too perfect to relate to. However, I believe that's not a problem when it comes to Elsa. Sure, most people don't have ice powers. However, what makes Elsa relatable is that despite how powerful she is, she isn't always sure of herself. Throughout her childhood and teen years, she suffered through anxiety, depression and loneliness. For years, she was pressured to hide her true self from the world. It wasn't until she sang her most iconic song that she finally let like she could let go of her fear and be proud of her true self.
Elsa's character development
Elsa gets to develop a lot throughout the Frozen films. Due to a tragic incident involving her younger sister, Anna, Elsa had to stay inside of her room throughout her childhood. She was shy, hidden and reserved. As time goes on, she runs away from her kingdom, makes the coolest ice palace in existence, and gains the best sense of fashion that any cartoon hero has ever had. She also learns to control her fears, as well as her powers, and save her kingdom. In Frozen 2, she discovers the magic of the Enchanted Forest and secrets about her family. This eventually leads to Elsa, once again, saving the day. It also leads to Elsa finding a new home pagina in the Enchanted Forest.
Elsa doesn't need a man
Elsa was the first Disney princess to not have a love interest. Even the sequel to Frozen didn't give Elsa any romantic subplots. Considering what a big element romance is in Disney princess films, it's amazing how Elsa managed to go through two films without a single bit of ship tease with any guys. Elsa shows that u don't need a significant other to achieve happiness.
Friendship with her sister
Anna wasn't just Elsa's sister. She was her best friend. Due to an incident that happened when they were younger, Elsa had to stay away from Anna. However, after that conflict was resolved, Elsa and Anna went back to being the best of friends.
Elsa's singing voice
Thanks to Idina Menzel, Elsa is one of the greatest singers in cartoon history. Any song that's sung door her is destined to become a classic.
Elsa's style
From her beautiful design to her large collection of gorgeous outfits, Elsa's one of the most stylish characters in all of fiction.
A role-model
Lots of people look up to Elsa. Although it was likely unintentional, Elsa's song about letting go of her fears started being seen as a metaphor for coming out. Lots of gay people see themselves in Elsa, as do a lot of asexual people.
Despite being powerful, she doesn't crave power
Elsa was the queen of a kingdom, but being a powerful ruler didn't define her. She stayed the ruler for as long as she needed to, because it was the right thing to do rather than something she wanted to do. She finally found what she wanted in the Enchanted Forest. Rather than craving power and fame, Elsa just wants to be herself and be free while protecting and helping those in need.
The coolest dolls
Collecting dolls of Elsa has become one of my absolute favoriete things to collect. She has been gegeven a large variety of some of the most beautiful dolls that I've ever seen.
Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, Elsa's coolness is over 9000!
