Livejournal can be quite confusing for people who don't use it, so here's a short guide including the most important things u have to think of when crediting iconen from livejournal.

Why do I even have to credit?
You won't go to jail if u don't, but...
1.)People spend quite some time making iconen and crediting them is a sign of respect
Think about how u would feel if u made some iconen and suddenly you'd find them on some other site without your name mentioned anywhere.
2.)So u repost some pretty iconen from livejournal, another fanpopper sees them and wants to see meer iconen from the person...

Now, I love complimenten as much (or more) than the volgende person and when I go to my page and see that someone has gegeven me a compliment I am in a happy little bubble for the rest of the day. I think this is a wonderful feature so that people can be recognized for their outstanding work. However, there is a etiquette that goes along with giving props. complimenten are something u should give if u feel that a person has contributed something funny, substantial, unique, outstanding, of just plain awesome in your eyes. But I get so tired of seeing the same things over and over in my updates and then typing the same stuff over and over. Also people dont seem to grasp the use of trefwoorden so maybe this will help some in that respect,too.
