In this case, the protest pussy riot was making was NOT repugnant; It was actually a very apt concern. I agreed with nearly all their statements, and find their imprisonment was just further evidence for their case.
The argument is meant to be that they were guilty of "incitement", but they weren't advocating, condoning of encouraging a anarchy. (Not intentionally, anyway) They were simply highlighting a fairly overt problem, and apparrently people couldn't handle that.
It's tragic, really.
I was never so upset about a political headline before.
However, if there is any good in this regrettable fiasco, it would be that the publicity the band received upon their trial shed a lot of light on their cause. There's meer awareness of these issues, and meer people are taking action.
