A very small group of people were allowed to watch the premiere of \'The Red Woman\' in Los Angeles last night, and although they were threatened with molten gold burning if any plot details were leaked, a few minor spoilers have been revealed.
Obviously, look away now if you want to go in blind in two weeks\' time - but if you want a few teasers, here you go:
1. It follows directly on from that devastating, blood-soaked snowy scene at the end of season five.
2. There\'s plenty of brutal violence, but not as much sex and nudity.
3. Despite the episode\'s title, Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) is not the focus of the episode. But she does play an important role.
4. Gwendoline Christie\'s Brienne had the biggest cheer of the night.
5. Sophie Turner\'s Sansa is definitely no longer the timid, suffering Stark of old.
6. Fans of Arya (Maisie Williams) aren\'t going to have a fun time.
7. As ever, there are genuine shocks and twists, even at this early stage of the season.
8. Most of the trailer\'s footage comes from this premiere, so there\'s lots more to be excited about.
Of course we\'re not going to answer that one, fools.
"This season was a beast to make," showrunner David Benioff told the audience. "We shot 680 hours of dailies, which translates to 3.7 million feet of film.
"We shot in five different countries - Northern Ireland, Spain, Croatia, Iceland and Canada. We employed 900 crewmembers in Belfast; 400 in Spain. We issued 140 script revisions. We shot two units a day for 22 weeks straight, three units a day for 10 weeks straight, four units for two weeks straight. And none of that would be possible without the greatest producing team on the planet."
This was the only screening of the premiere episode, ahead of its debut on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK. The episode is not even being sent to critics in advance, like with previous years.
season six will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am in the early hours of April 25, at the same time as it airs in the US. It will be repeated at 9pm the same day.
