1. door the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);-

2. And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?-

3. (It is) the ster of piercing brightness;-

4. There is no soul but has a protector over it.

5. Now let man but think from what he is created!

6. He is created from a drop emitted-

7. Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs:

8. Surely ((Allah)) is able to bring him back (to life)!

9. The dag that (all) things secret will be tested,

10. (Man) will have no power, and no helper.

11. door the Firmament which returns (in its round),

12. And door the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs of the sprouting of vegetation),-

13. Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil):

14. It is not a thing for amusement.

15. As for them, they are but plotting a scheme,

16. And I am planning a scheme.

17. Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).
1. I do call to witness the Resurrection Day;

2. And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil).

3. Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?

4. Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.

5. But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.

6. He questions: "When is the dag of Resurrection?"

7. At length, when the sight is dazed,

8. And the moon is buried in darkness.

9. And the sun and moon are joined together,-

10. That dag will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"

11. door no means! No place of safety!

1. Verily We have granted thee a manifest Victory:

2. That Allah may forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow; fulfil His favour to thee; and guide thee on the Straight Way;

1. Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created-

2. Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:

3. Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,-

4. He Who taught (the use of) the pen,-

5. Taught man that which he knew not.

6. Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds,

7. In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient.

8. Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all).

9. Seest thou one who forbids-

10. A votary when he (turns) to pray?

11. Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?-

12. of enjoins Righteousness?

13. Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away?

14. Knoweth he not that Allah doth see?

15. Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him door the forelock,-

16. A lying, sinful forelock!

17. Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades):

18. We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)!

19. Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah.!
1. door the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence;

2. door those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed);

3. And door those who glide along (on errands of mercy),

4. Then press vooruit, voorwaarts as in a race,

5. Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord),

6. One dag everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion,

7. Followed door oft-repeated (commotions):

8. Hearts that dag will be in agitation;

9. Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.

10. They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?

11. "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?"...

1. A questioner asked about a Penalty to befall-

2. The Unbelievers, the which there is none to ward off,-

3. (A Penalty) from Allah, Lord of the Ways of Ascent.

4. The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a dag the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years:

5. Therefore do thou hold Patience,- a Patience of beautiful (contentment).

6. They see the (Day) indeed as a far-off (event):

7. But We see it (quite) near.

8. The dag that the sky will be like molten brass,

9. And the mountains will be like wool,

10. And no friend will ask after a friend,

11. Though they will be put in sight of each other,-...

1. Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of Allah. to Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs praise: and He has power over all things.

2. It is He Who has created you; and of u are some that are Unbelievers, and some that are Believers: and Allah sees well all that ye do.

3. He has created the heavens and the earth in just proportions, and has gegeven u shape, and made your shapes beautiful: and to Him is the final Goal.

1. The revelation of this Book is from Allah, the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

2. Verily it is We Who have revealed the Book to thee in Truth: so serve Allah, offering Him sincere devotion.

3. Is it not to Allah that sincere devotion is due? But those who take for protectors other than Allah (say): "We only serve them in order that they may bring us nearer to Allah." Truly Allah will judge between them in that wherein they differ. But Allah guides not such as are false and ungrateful.

2. (This is) the Revelation of the Book in which there is no doubt,- from the Lord of the Worlds.

3. of do they say, "He has forged it"? Nay, it is the Truth from thy Lord, that thou mayest admonish a people to whom no warner has come before thee: in order that they may receive guidance.

1. These are verses of the Qur'an,-a book that makes (things) clear;

2. A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,-

3. Those who establish regular prayers and give in regular charity, and also have (full) assurance of the hereafter.
